I got a silver Tool Part. Had no idea there were black ones.

I got black. I was confused when I saw the silver ones.

So apparently there are both black and silver copies of the Tool Part cassette. I don't know what color I have because I haven't gotten it yet, but someone with the other color start regretting their purchase and sell it to me.

I had a similar experience once, I ordered "Whenever, If Ever" clear with green smoke (limited to 1000), and got the mispressed tour edition (limited to 500) instead!

That email reads like me when I was in college. I was an expert at crafting believable excuses for why I needed extensions on papers and projects that I hadn't actually started. I honestly thought no one would ever figure out that I was just a lazy procrastinator.

Thank you for your advice. I am aware that putting a penny on the headshell is bad for the records as I said in my post, and also that this didn't make any difference anyway so I'm haven't actually been doing this. I only tried it once that's all. That's why what I was actually asking was if anyone knows of any other way to adjust it to stop it looping.

 

The main topic of the post anyhow was I was wondering how to adjust the fine tune speed controls, there is clearly meant to be a way to do this, I just can't figure out how! I am aware that it is not a quality player, and that there likely is no way to adjust the arm to stop it looping, was just throwing it out there.

It's possible that they just added that so it would look nice, despite having no function. Some cheap turntables even have a fake counterweight just to look good.

I didn't notice you were in Europe.  No idea what prices are like for you there.  I think that the main difference is simply more watts.  Whether you need more or not depends on your room and speakers.

I have a pretty small room and the Wharfedale isn't that watt-heavy so I think I'll go for the 5004.

Get the discounted pm6004 instead of the pm5004 unless you find one for super cheap.

The pm6005 has digital inputs, but you might be better off with an external for about the same money or less.

 

But is it really worth it to put that much money towards a 6004 instead of a 5004? What's the main difference?

Hey, quick question; I'm probably going to buy a Pro-Ject Esprit DC and Wharfedale 10.1 speakers, but I'm confused by amps. I'm looking at Marantz PM 5004 and the Marantz PM 6005, and is it really worth to buy the the 6005 instead of 5004? The 6005 is almost twice the price of the 5004 where I live.

Do you have your speakers on the same shelf as your TT?
