Does anyone else get sick of confusing re-issues?
Grey replied to Grey's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Aw, c'mon, these threads give you the opportunity to feel cool and superior because you've been here longer! This, in particular. They never seem to want to answer questions, either. "I sell 1000's of records and can't be bothered to look at them all". -
Small rant incoming. Like the title says, does anyone else get sick of trying to hunt down a specific release in a sea of re-issues and re-pressings? Don't get me wrong I have nothing against either, but it gets frustrating when they re-press a record that is visually identical to an earlier pressing because it makes it very difficult to track down specific releases. For example, albums that are silently re-released several years later and appear identical to the previous release, like using the same catalogue and barcode numbers as the original. Usually the only way to tell is some minor difference in the runout groove or a small logo on the jacket. This is espically frustrating when trying to buy a record online from a seller who can't be bothered to find out what they actaully have. I have clearly put way too much stock in the Discogs marketplace by assuming that people actaully list their albums for sale under the correct release, but instead you have them listing reissues as originals, etc. Or, maybe i'm being too uptight about this.

Fuckin' USPS' Network Distribution Centers: the thread.
Grey replied to moonbeams's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I did eventually get my money back for this one, but it still frustrates me due to the fact I specifically asked for extra packaging (it was rare and expensive) and all it came with was a mailer about as thin as a sheet of toilet paper and nothing on the inside to protect it. As you can see, USPS took extra good care of it. -
Records You Are Lucky To Own
Grey replied to almightyseancore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
These 5 singles were released in limited numbers following the death of the artist, I feel pretty lucky to have the whole set. I have some other rares I should get pictures of, cool thread. -
Really excited about this, I have the Deluxe Version of Dive. I pre-ordered the standard release since I dont like colored vinyl. It seems like this album is a single LP based on the pictures? It does have a shorter track listing than Dive.

Hello. This is my first post on the forum and i'm here to shamelessly abuse the huge userbase present to try and find some records i've been searching for. Some of these are specific requests (down to year and label) so please read carefully and if you've got any interest in selling one of these to me, send me a PM and we'll work something out! I'm located in the United States, and would prefer sellers located state-side as well. Thanks in advance. The Cinematic Orchestra - Ma Fleur (Original 2007 European pressing on Ninja Tune) DJ Cam Quartet - Diggin' Radiohead - The Bends (1995 Parlophone pressing) Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago (European 4AD pressing, I have the Jagjaguwar release and it's rubbish) Travis - The Boy With No Name
