  1. Martin with the real talk zing... -- Current levels. Thanks for the orders. "Dude to the high volume," it's going to take a while for me to write everyone back. And to pack everything up. 2. numbersix - Yeah, I'd definitely steer clear of the XXXL crew at the next Integ show. Not small mammals.
  3. A-Money - Deal. I'll throw down for cheese and sparkling grape drank next time since you already graced the kids with cupcakes.
  4. "And Brent, you're still missing the point, so I'll emphasize it one more time: I don't want my money going into your pocket. If I buy the CFD reissue, it'll be from a local record store or distro which will have already paid you a wholesale price for the item. My money doesn't go to you; theirs does. Maybe it's semantics, but it would make me feel better about it." Major logic-flaw/epic self-clowning right there. Sorry dude. "Lastly, I wish some of the people who have texted or PMed me agreeing with me about this issue would stand up and say something in this thread. I'm not alone on this thing." This is amazing on so many levels. You entertain me, Scott Heisel.
  5. Anyway, back to stuff that matters. 6. This is beginning to remind me of when I "complained" about being thanked after God in Frodus records because God didn't pay for mastering.
  7. This isn't serious at all, right? Pretty sure I answered a bunch of "label advice" questions for you privately.
  8. Scott - Wow, you really don't grasp high level humor, do you? If you legitimately thought I was serious in "accusing" that guy about "making up" anything I typed, I'm sorry... there's just no hope for you in understanding what's going on here EVER. Especially when one post after that, it clearly said "Watch, I am going to reveal that the Brent_Eyestone account on VLV isn't me." Or something to that effect. Damn, dude. Get more serious about the internet. As for "customers not coming back," the past 24 hour period was the biggest single mailorder day in label history. Ironic, huh? And that's cool that you're up on the latest bakery news and all that... but a better analogy would be something like the Yankees. Hate the owner all you want, but he's always going to sell out the stadium with a quality product, as you yourself continue to admit that you'll still be purchasing. And again, it doesn't hurt me personally if you don't mailorder it and buy it from ______ instead. I don't think you grasp that we get paid for every copy no matter where it's sold. A-Money - Yeah, I get into wild exchanges with people on the internet. You are correct that it's juvenile and not something that people who take business "seriously" do. I guess I've done it long enough to understand how little my antics effect "the bottom line" and how much they make people pay attention to the stuff I've got out. Besides, at the end of the day, I essentially get paid to put out punk records, ride a skateboard, and draw skulls. It's the same shit I've been into since I was 8 years old, so of course there's going to be heavy childish overtones to the public face of it. I'm not exactly releasing literature or staging wine and cheese receptions at my shows... The cordial and friendly thing you encountered is how I am... and how you'll always find me when we cross paths again.
  9. Yeah, all non-US orders should email me for instructions since CCNow isn't set up to process multiple items properly. [email protected] Thanks.
  10. A-Money - Wait, you made the cupcakes, right? Those were really good. I liked the mint. I remember that conversation too. Bridge collapses, etc. Honestly, the only business practices I'm concerned about are if I'm putting out good, quality stuff and filling out orders properly/swiftly and taking care of people getting what they ordered and more. I don't buy into the schmaltzy "good dudes" method of faking like I'm everyone's friend, kissing ass, and biting my tongue on messageboards so that people won't hate my label. I guess I was heavily influenced by Randall in "Clerks" when I was a kid or something? Who knows. But I'll definitely refute being two-faced... I've said the same stuff here as I've said on VLV. Other than that, I unfortunately can't even recall "singling you out" on a messageboard. I don't put any stock into usernames or get too invested in taking things personally when literally everyone is anonymous. As you saw for yourself, I don't really talk about the internet out there in real world context and I hope you found me pleasant and genuine in our interactions. You struck me as super sweet and there's definitely no actual complaints or beef or whatever with you. Sorry if you ever got that impression.
  11. Every other song not on "S/T" will be on a 2xLP/CD that we'll be working on when the weather cools down.
  12. You won't have to worry about the CFD going out of print. It will be repressed as long as there's people who want it. So likely forever.
  13. Yep, they'll be on iTunes, etc. around the street date (August 10). To be fair, they are looooong songs and this is a limited item that cost a dickload to make.
  14. Wow, something's really stuck in your craw, eh? STILL BITTER. Also, this is a pretty hilarious form of "protest" if you think about it. Both the band and the label still get paid no matter where you buy it from. AND you'll have to pay more elsewhere. No skin off my back though... feel free to stay angry at me for no real reason. :^) Everyone else - thanks for the orders. Dude to the high volume, it will take a while to write everyone back on email, but I'm sure you know you'll be taken care of by now. Much appreciated.
  15. You won't have to worry about these busting through the sleeve. I've shipped records almost every day of my life for the past 14 years and know how to pack things well. Juan - thanks for making the thread.
  16. Notes on Christie Front Drive "S/T" : For a dude that started the label when I started it and listened to the music I liked over all those years, simply writing a blurb for this release is just fucking insane. Easily one of my favorite records of all time, "Christie Front Drive," "S/T," and "Magic Bullet" were definitely never three phrases I ever thought I'd be able to put in the same sentence. But years go by, old labels fold, new friendships are made, and the demand for classic records never stops. So here we are. 14 years after the initial pressing on Caulfield, and several years after slipping out of print, "S/T" (aka "The Stereo Record") is back in print. In digging out the original masters, we discovered an alarming truth: the original version was mixed, but never mastered! So while we've preserved all of the original mixes and song order, the entire album has been mastered for the first time ever at the brilliant hands and ears of Jen Munson. Additionally, lacquers for the vinyl were cut expertly by Joe Lambert Mastering. As if that weren't enough, each copy of the CD and LP come with a bonus DVD featuring the band's final performance in 1996 (plus photos and easter eggs), updated layouts by yours truly, deluxe digipak packaging for the CD, an actual insert in the LP, download codes, color vinyl, black vinyl, and more. On top of the CD, LP, and DVD, we've also reissued the only shirt design that the band made back during their run... 20 originally made for Detroit Fest, now in an edition of 100 for mailorder. People who order the shirt will be able to add the CD/DVD for $3 less than ordering it by itself. Enjoy. MBL130 - CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE "S/T" LP+DVD, CD+DVD - Available again for the first time in several years - Properly mastered for the first time ever by Jen Munson - Every copy of the CD and LP come with an additional DVD featuring the final show from 1996 - Free download coupon with every LP - Reworked and expanded layouts - First press of LP available in either black or blue/white mix vinyl - For more information and an Mp3, please visit: http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/site/discography/mbl130/ • PLEASE NOTE : WHILE THE CD+DVD IS IN STOCK, THE LP+DVD IS A PRE-RELEASE ITEM! The CD came out on Magic Bullet and I had licensed the vinyl version to Trash Art. The band has been pretty active in the past couple years and didn't have LP's to sell, so Horkey, myself, and our friend Keegan cooked up a very special package to bring the release back to Magic Bullet proper and essentially give it an aesthetic facelift we'd been cooking up in recent months. Long before Horkey became a household name under the weight of his work for Adidas, Flip, Isis, Converge, et al, his first LP cover was "Things To Do When You Should Be Dead Anyway." It's been a wonderful journey for all involved ever since, so it's an absolute pleasure to revisit this now distant time in our lives and spare no expense in giving it the type of treatment that more recent Aaron Horkey prints and editions have enjoyed. MBL068-1 - FORENSICS "THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU SHOULD BE DEAD ANYWAY" LP (LETTERPRESS EDITION) - All copies feature silkscreened and letterpressed outer wraps - Internal jacket (lyrics, hand-numbering) offset printed onto kraft stock - Original illustration by Aaron Horkey - Hand-numbered in an edition of 500: - #1-100: Black vinyl, Gold cover - #101-200: Gold vinyl, Brown cover - #201-350: Gold vinyl, Gold cover - #351-500: Black vinyl, Brown cover - Free download with every LP - For more information and an Mp3, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/site/discography/mbl068-1/ - For more information and tracks from the band, please visit http://www.facebook.com/forensicsva To order this LP online, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html -- Notes on Integrity "VVe Are The End" : As the summer 2010 release schedule slogs on, Magic Bullet tosses a dirty bomb into the mix of completely safe and traditional major label/major indie fare foisted upon the buying public in the form of a brand-new, heavily armored 7″ from metallic hardcore legends Integrity. Featuring an A-side crammed with 2 brand new, exclusive songs (title track plus the blistering “Beneath Black Flames VVe Ride”), a B-side featuring the iconic, ominous (and, for this release, 3-dimensional) Integrity logo skull etched into the vinyl, plus cover art featuring some of the most notorious iconography from throughout history, this will no doubt be the most menacing, threatening, and truly independent release to land on shelves this summer. Anyone wearing pleated slacks or neon apparel to the record store this August will immediately find themselves soiled in the presence of such a nihilistically violent gem. * This 7″ is not recommended for record stores adjacent to flower shops, churches, indie rock venues, and small pet stores, as it has been scientifically proven to kill all foliage and weak mammals within a 500-yard radius. To order the 7" and shirt online, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html -- Notes on Meditative Sect "Laceration Points" : Musical incest seems to run deep over here. Let's see... You start with myself and Graham Scala... we both play guitars in Forensics and have solo releases under the names Aughra and Ventoux, respectively. Then there's Mike Haley and Sean Connolly. Mike and Sean together are known as Blown Doors. Mike and myself together are known as Big China & Little Trouble. Mike by himself is Wether and Sean moonlights in Pyramids. All of us also play in other projects beyond these. Follow that? Eh, who cares! Meditative Sect is when all four of us get together at Mike's in Delaware in rooms stuffed with things like pump organs, guitars, circuit-bent electronics, stacks of SUNN amps, hand-built effects boxes, and vintage recording gear. Jams commence and recordings get made. This particular LP finds us jamming out on a more pensive, trance-like vibe. There's an overall beauty to the selections, but it's a very dark and menacing beauty. Anyway, there's 150 of them. I whipped up a custom illustration for it and it was silkscreened in 3 colors on kraft chipboard jackets. I also drew a unique doodle on every single center label and numbered them all. MBL137 - MEDITATIVE SECT "LACERATION POINTS" LP - Limited to 150 copies - All copies feature hand-screened 3-color covers on kraft chipboard - All center labels feature one-of-a-kind art + hand-numbering - Free download with every LP - For more information and an Mp3, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/site/discography/mbl137/ - For more information and tracks from the band, please visit http://www.facebook.com/meditativesect To order this LP online, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html -- BRENT EYESTONE "LACERATION POINTS" LIMITED T-SHIRT - 3-color silkscreen of the illustration created for the cover of MEDITATIVE SECT's "Laceration Points" LP. - Limited to 75 shirts - Shirt Brand: Fruit 50/50 - Sizes: YL, S, M, L, XL To order this shirt online, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html -- Notes on This Will Destroy You "Moving on the Edges of Things" 12" : TWDY have chosen this release to make a clean, violent break from the public perception that has unintentionally emerged around this instrumental Texan band over the past 4 years. Motivated entirely by death, dark times, and bad intentions, those that have claimed the band’s previous work to embarrassingly trendy musical genres and those who try to work it into religious ideologies are going to be rethinking a lot of things... This 12″ is certainly a powerful statement and preview of what is to come from the band in the years ahead. "Moving on the Edges of Things" features 2 brand new, exclusive This Will Destroy You tracks that capture the band diving full-on into the abyss, shunning every trace of the “post-rock” tag and making a very clear musical statement that should effectively dissuade all Christians and other religious zealots from ever claiming the band as “theirs” again. This record literally sounds like your turntable eating itself while opening up a portal to hell, where the members of the band are all waiting to pull you down, stuff your mouth full of pills, and introduce you to the man downstairs. Control+F “epic cinematic crescendo” NOT FOUND. MBL131 - THIS WILL DESTROY YOU "MOVING ON THE EDGES OF THINGS" 12" - Limited to 1000 copies - Free download with every 12" - For more information, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/site/discography/mbl131/ - For more information and tracks from the band, please visit http://www.myspace.com/thiswilldestroyyou To order this LP online, please visit http://www.magicbulletrecords.com/mailorder.html -- Thank you. http://www.magicbulletrecords.com
  17. 40 items, including stuff from my personal label archive... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmagicbullet45QQhtZ-1
  18. Test presses got here Friday. Packaging is done. Once Richter approves a test, it should be about 2-3 weeks before I put the LP's up for sale. We're also reproducing the only "official" Christie Front Drive shirt they ever made back in the 90's. They made 20 for Detroit Fest and we're going to do another 100 for mailorder. Let's see... This Will Destroy You "Moving on the Edges of Things" pic disc tests are approved. Shouldn't be much longer. Integrity 7" is just waiting on tests. Packaging is done. Charles Manson "Air" CD/LP/tape goes into production next Friday. Layout is done, just finishing the mastering. Meditative Sect test presses are approved. Just waiting on final records and silkscreened sleeves to get here. Forensics "Things to Do..." (letterpress edition) LP is DONE. Just hand-numbering and getting some shirts run. Should be up soon. Next: Jesuit LP/7"/CD, All-American Rejects 12", Big China & Little Trouble new LP, Ghastly City Sleep "Moondrifts" 2xLP/CD/tape, Made Out of Babies "The Ruiner" LP, SSORC "Infidel Eternal" LP, etc.
  19. Hmmm.... maybe Kickstarter-funded records should all have asterisks printed on the jackets to differentiate them from records where people actually sweated, labored, and saved to put them out? I just don't like the idea that a record label can now be run by eating cheetos at a computer and asking for money and would hate to support that.
  20. Can you imagine being in a band, getting approached by a label to do a record... and then having the label tell you "okay cool, so let me gather the pledges!" Ouch. I'd run for the hills, personally. You might be able to land some newer bands who accept this whole newjack/pre-order/fundraiser culture, but I can't foresee too many vets and lifers being down with taking "pledges" to fund their records. This is punk rock, not the Boy Scouts Bowl-a-Rama, you know? I'm thankful to have been able to put out ~150 records via one method: hard fucking work, budgeting, and fiscal responsibility. I genuinely hope that this Kickstarter/pre-order culture dies a quick death.
  21. FYI, the This Will Destroy You 12" and Christie Front Drive LP are NOT going to involve pre-orders. I can't stand pre-order culture myself, so I don't subject the bands' fans to it. We only sell things that are in-stock and all of the plants are paid in full by the time we do so. Fiscal responsibility, customer respect 2010. A black version of the TWDY 12" was sold at their RSD shows. Pic disc version available soon, as are a few other new releases. I'll post here when we're ready to take orders. Thanks.
  22. Technically, it says "final 1996 performance" not "final performance." Yup. And even Denver Fest wasn't the last time they played. They played our store in December. More shows coming... stay tuned.
