  1. You might roll your eyes when I mention this, but I thought Whirr's "Around" EP was a bit dark. Well, at least a bit darker than what they've previously released. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQznWILpg7A Edit: Whoops, forgot this was released in 2013.
  2. Japanese Shoegaze band. I really hope they would print stuff on vinyl. Not sure if they're known on here, but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkBIb_ElLRQ
  3. Don't know if it matters, but I changed this to a shoegaze/dream pop thread. I pretty much got what I needed from this thread, and the discussion derailed a bit (not in a bad way). Anyone is welcome to discuss whatever they want about the genre. Once again, thanks for all the helpful responses.
  4. Just wanted to add that I pre-ordered The Bilinda Butchers' "Heaven" the other day. $20 is a bit high for a single LP, but I guess it's a bit understandable since there were only 250 copies pressed. I usually like to listen to a whole album before deciding on whether to buy it, but I'm taking a gamble with this one. Hope I don't regret it. If anyone's interested: http://orchidtapes.bigcartel.com/product/the-bilinda-butchers-heaven http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa_exooTYKo
  5. Can't say no to a price like that. Thanks!
  6. This is a lot of information (music?) overload. In a good way, of course. I'm slowly making my way through all the music. As I've said before, I really appreciate all the responses, keep them coming if anyone has more suggestions to offer! Also, I don't mean to sound unappreciative, but please keep in mind that I'm asking for records that are still obtainable at fair prices. It's a bit dissapointing when I really enjoy a recommended album only to find out that it's out of print or way too expensive.
  7. I was being vague in hopes of getting a variety of answers, just so other people may benefit from whatever sales are going on too. But, I'll list some of what I'm looking for anyways (vinyl record format): Poison Idea - Kings of Punk Poison Idea - Feel the Darkness Poison Idea - The Fatal Erection Years Dead Boys - Young Loud and Snotty Dead Boys - We Have Come For Your Children Misfits - Static Age Misfits - Walk Among us Slowdive - Just for A Day Death of Lovers - Buried Under a World of Roses Whirr - Around Most of these aren't too expensive, seems like the price is $15 average, but it would be nice to get a discount than none at all.
  8. Looking to buy some new records. Anyone know of any good sales going on? Online, distros, whatever. List them here! Hopefully there will be some stores with albums that I'm looking for . I just started collecting a few months ago. Do sales/discounts often happen for July 4th? My apologies for making two new threads within the past two hours or so, especially since I'm a new member. And sorry if there's a thread for something like this already, I looked around but didn't find anything.
  9. Awesome. Very, very awesome. I've already gotten better responses here than any place that I've asked this question. I'm digging a lot of the albums so far, I'm more into the slower (melancholic) albums, but I'm still open to any recommendations that anyone may have. Thanks to all responders so far.
  10. Shoegaze and Dream pop thread. Talk about whatever you want in regards to the genre. Original Post: Hi everyone. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section, but can anyone recommend any shoegaze records that are available (or pre-orders) for reasonable prices? I'm looking to add to my collection. So far, I'm familiar with MBV, Slowdive, Ride, Anne, Whirr, Nothing. Also, aside from shoegaze records, if anyone can recommend any rainy day records too, then that would be great. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Edit - I'm looking for dream pop albums too.
