  1. What is your setup?  Mine has a little bit of surface noise, but sounds excellent overall. The B side in particular.

Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit w/ Ortofon 2M Red, Pro-Ject Pre-Amp, a proper AV amplifier (but I forgot the brand) and tower speakers from Teufel.

I totally believe you guys about your records sounding good but from what I've experienced and heard so far it's quite the gamble whether it'll be a decent copy or not.

I wonder how that could even be the case. Maybe some intern at the pressing plant cleaning the master dics only every tenth copy or what? Not that I know whether that's necessary at all.

    Enlighten me please.

  2. Wow, what a huge fail from amazon (or rather a marketplace seller?). Sorry to hear, pal.

Don't really think this'll help but at least you got a decent sounding record out of this,

because from what I've heard on my friend's setup, the repress sounds like total crap. Especially the B side.

I was quite baffled actually. Additionally since current impressions vary so much, cause from what I've heard,

it seems that this will be my worst sounding record so far. (only listened to his copy, haven't spun mine yet).

Well anyway, this won't help you really if it's just for collecting purposes, I guess.

I just checked amazon.de, seems like hhv's amazon marketplace shop has three in stock. For 34,29€ though... yikes.

  3. Just came across this on Twitter:

Orchestral versions of music from Final Fantasy VI, VII and X (the best ones).

Can't see anywhere to buy them from though.

omfg. live. in Bonn. You're a godsend, WalnutSoap.

    you too, thievedrelic.

  4. Congrats to the lucky ones and kudos to Tim for the contest!

I also wanted to congratulate you on the stellar editing job of your videos,

since you've not only hooked me on extraordinary records but on new artists alike.

Now I really gotta get my hands on that Bersarin Quartett repress before that's gone, too.

and that Gabriel Saloman track at the end of Screen-printed vinyl records and covers, Part 1

    is just awesome.

So yeah, I hope you never run out of stuff to show us.

  5. I have no idea what everyone is referring to because the past couple pages are just mentioning whether they got emails or not and no mention of what it is were all after. Somebody please tell me what this mysterious new thing I must have is.

There's quite the squealer in the Fight Club, ask him. I think his name's Goo? ..Gogel? Can't recall. something like that.

I didn't know what was going on and he helped me out in like 0.22 seconds.

  6. No. Aronofsky's movies usually suffer from his apparent vanity and complete (well placed?) lack of faith in the intelligence of his audience.

He starts off with some sort of theme he wants to convey and is so terrified that his audience isn't going to understand his 'really important' message that he just clobbers them over the head with it for basically the duration of the movie.  zero subtlety.

It's like being proud that you FINALLY saw the sailboat when all he really did is draw a really big fucking sailboat.

The thing about Aronofsky and why he is so extraordinary in my point of view is that all of his movies except for Noah, which is sadly his worst, invoke an emotional or rather spiritual intelligence in the viewer. Imagine an ocean of feels, his plots are simply tiny rafts that are influenced by the stream.

The ironic part about Noah is that the huge arc Hollywood made him build was too big to actually make the viewer feel anything else except the puffed up plot.

I'd say his characters are so over the top so it would be easier for the viewer to actually take the ride, be absorbed by it.

So yeah, the plot is happening quite obviously, if you want to participate though is your choice.

  7. Hey guys, was lurking around the internet, trying to shed some light on the Clint Mansell test pressing situation when I stumbled over this on reddit. Don't know if this appeared already on here somewhere. Just in case, here you go:

I got confirmation from Spencer Hickman of Mondo that Requiem for a Dream and Amelie are in the works. Those are two I have wanted forever.

That was over three months ago. Could be nothing, I know.

Not that it matters really, I've been on the hype train since he posted the picture.

  8. Puh, shipping totally kills it for just one copy, a large order would make sense (10 copies=85.25$ shipping). Anybody from Germany/Europe interested in a group buy for Journey and/or Hotline Miami?

I might be in when it comes to Journey ..Shame I ordered Hotline Miami 2 weeks ago.

Plus I'm also from NRW so there's that.
