  1. I can't be the only one that's sick of seeing people whine on facebook about Spencer on every single new song they post. Especially with this song, as if there aren't 5 other people in the band that contributed to the way this song sounded and the more melodic direction they are going in.

Yeah that annoys the hell out of me too. I'd like to see those people write even a half decent song, or even just try and sing in key!

To be honest I think there's a high expectation for a lot of bands these days. Maybe it's always been that way and social media makes it more obvious? It just seems that if you're writing music and your sound never changes or develops then people will get bored and move on (and to some extent I agree) but if you try and evolve then people will quickly call you a sell out. You can't win!

  2. I believe this is the normal Vinyl release + bookley, I don't think there's any different vinyl variant than the 180g black ones.

That's why I'm holding myself from preordering this for now.

Edit: As a matter of fact, JPC's description doesn't seem different than Burning Shed's

I don't even think there's a booklet with the vinyl version. Steven Wilson HQ says there's the 2LP version, and a deluxe edition. But it says this about the deluxe version:

"The deluxe edition is presented in an elaborately designed 96 page case-bound book, with several additional inserts – including a diary, a sketchbook, newspaper cutting, a letter etc – featuring artwork by long-term SW collaborators Lasse Hoile (photography), Hajo Mueller (illustrations) and Carl Glover (design).

Contents of the deluxe edition include:

    – Hand. Cannot. Erase. album CD

    – Original demos CD (exclusive to this edition and including music that did not make the final album)

    – Blu-Ray containing hi resolution stereo & 5.1 audio (96/24 5.1 LPCM & DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1), seven additional alternative versions, mixes & radio edits, half-hour studio documentary, studio sessions photo gallery

    – DVD-V containing stereo & 5.1 audio (DTS 96/24 5.1 & 96/24 Stereo LPCM)"

Unfortunately it doesn't make any mention of what is included with the vinyl release, so I'm guessing it's just a standard 2LP version (which I'm happy with anyway).

  3. Sorry guys, was busy on new years and then spent yesterday VERY hungover!

I'll be honest, I've had 8 requests from people asking me to pick up a copy of the EU White version for them. I really don't have the money or time to be able to pick them up and mail them all out to different places. I was stung on eBay a few years back when someone claimed not to receive something I'd posted to them, and because of that I don't really want to do any selling etc.

Hope everyone is cool with that, sorry for letting people down. Hopefully someone else out there will be kind enough to step in and offer their help?

  4. Ask and you shall receive!!!

Sorry got a bit ahead of myself there....

I could be wrong, but I believe this is a sneak peak at the silver press of Leviathan. Posted by the band so it's legit. Though annoyingly it's not a double LP or anything exciting like a deluxe box set (like they did with Remission). Just looks like the usual repress but on the limited silver.

  5. Looks like mine cleared customs tonight, so should be delivered on Wednesday or Friday. Will be stoked when I finally get them in my hands. Glad everybody is getting their copies.

Good stuff! Just took a quick peek at mine, looks amazing, can't wait to give it a spin tonight!

More on topic: I'm surprised there haven't been more announcements about the 25th anniversary releases. Hopefully with the new year approaching we'll get some updates soon.

  6. As long as I get my shit I'll be happy.

I just don't think the timeline or the customer service from them is acceptable. I know that if, big if, I ever order from them again I will know the process.

Sorry to derail this thread of awesome colors and releases, carry on!

Out of interest, just wondering if your Baroness Blue Record turned up? I got home today to a card from Royal Mail saying that they tried to deliver an "international item" but that no one was home for it. It's my copy of the album (as I haven't ordered anything else international).

Will pick it up tomorrow morning.

  7. One of the best video games of all time IMO. Amazing story, great score

Agreed, 100%! Definitely up there as one of, if not THE greatest game I've ever played. The gameplay itself wasn't groundbreaking, but it didn't need to be. The story, the artwork, and the world that they created was just beyond anything else I've ever played. The soundtrack was the icing on the cake.

Needless to say, I will be trying my hardest to bag a copy...

  8. This has been covered a bunch by other posts. Relapse used to be on the ball on updating. Now they arent. It just is how it goes. They wont update your order status so dont hold your breath. You wont get a tracking number unless you e mail them a bunch of times and even then it is a toss up. Like the nacho man randy taylor says it takes awhile to ship at times but you are getting records for a great price. Unless they are a gift for the holidays for someone else they will show up in due time and you will be jamming and forget all about it.

    This.

Still waiting for my Baroness - Blue Record, but tbh it's coming to UK and it's Christmas. It'll turn up when it does. If I haven't got it by mid January I'll start asking questions, but I'm sure it'll arrive.

  9. So killermerch are doing a "12 Days of Sumerian" (this looks to be an annual thing?). They've pressed 200 of the Crosses album for it, and I'm wondering if maybe we'll get lucky and get a small repress of the first Periphery album.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Might be worth keeping an eye on the Sumerian Facebook page over the next week or so. Would be very good timing considering the new album will be dropping fairly soon.

  10. So we can buy ourselves Christmas presents!

That Lord Dying looks sweet on the blue/silver merge, but there is no way in hell I am paying basically double to get it here to Canada or any standard black editions.

Relapse can only have my ass for Baroness fancy colors, it's is hard to sit to type this, after $ exchange, outrageous shipping and %20 off I am still paying roughly $37.50 per record. Hopefully I don't get hit with any duty charges on top of that.

    /Rant

That's crazy man, how can shipping to Canada be so much!? Although I'm in the UK and with shipping it's just over $43! I'm the same, only buy through Relapse for a few choice bands, Baroness, Mastodon, and a couple of others.

Recently discovered that here in the UK if the item is over $25 before shipping, I'll be charged import taxes (plus an £8 handling fee!!). Shipping costs don't seem to be factored in as far as I can tell...

  11. Baroness Blue Record is now available on blue/bone merge, just placed my order along with the pink/bone merge of the Red Album!

It's a good thing Baroness is one of my favorite bands because I am getting hurt in the ass for shipping to Canada. But I guess it is worth if for fancy colors that are only available from the mail order.

PS, this is my first post, been lurking a while!

Oh god! Time to get the wallet out... Why do they do this to us so close to Christmas!!??

    Good first post btw ;-)
