  1. Saw it a few days ago as well and it really lived up to the hype. I actually shed more tears during this one than Your Name. Both incredible films.
  2. No, fuck this. I'm in denial. I can't even mourn right now, I'm just completely shocked. There are so many Soundgarden and Audioslave songs that mean so much to me, especially The Day I Tried to Live and Fell on Black Days. I listened to Be Yourself countless times before my first gigs and it helped me calm down and have a good time on stage. To think Chris Cornell isn't with us anymore just doesn't sound right.
  3. Really hyped for this. I remember being amazed when I finished watching the two seasons and FWWM but I felt like it was a crime that it never saw a continuation in all these years. Also, if you haven't picked up the Blu-Ray boxset yet, Zavvi has it for about 20 bucks.
  4. Recently went to a RAW houseshow and got front row seats for the first time. It's a completely different (and infinitely more awesome) experience being so close to the ramp and stage and high-fiving guys like Jeff Hardy, who I thought I'd never see live when he quit the company right before I went to my first event in 2009. On a sidenote, a certain villain just joined Bullet Club. As if NJPW hasn't already been a joy to watch this year.
  5. Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it was so damn good (as expected). I think it was even funnier than the first one but it also had heartwarming moments. I know this is Marvel and everyone should already be aware of this but make sure to stick around for the post-credit scenes.
  6. Yeah, I heard the reason why the HxH ending felt rushed was because the manga itself has been on hiatus for years, so there never was a proper conclusion. Still think it's weird that they couldn't come up with a more complete ending, even if it was anime-original in 148 episodes. I did miss Hisoka and the Troupe in the final arc and Kurapika barely showed up too. Two more episodes or so couldn't have hurt but oh well, I still gave it a 10/10 on MAL. Super jealous, I hope Region B releases will come out for MHA and OPM soon, I need to rewatch them. The English dub for OPM is actually really good, I saw most of S1 dubbed (even though I usually prefer subs) and it's just as good as the original imo. Man, you need to get up to date with AOT quick, every episode has been fucking amazing so far and as a manga reader, I can say that it's going to get even better.
  7. Finished Hunter x Hunter (2011) last week and holy shit, it was damn near flawless. 148 episodes and it just kept getting better and better, while each arc had a compelling theme and cast of characters. It should definitely get as much love as the universally-acclaimed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood when top-quality series are being discussed. On a sidenote, has anyone seen the Ghost in the Shell live-action adaptation? Honestly, I thought it was pretty good. Sure, the dialogue was dumbed-down and there were several changes but I could live with that. I liked that they tried to tell their own story without shitting on the source material, while still paying tribute to some of the iconic scenes from the 1995 film. Also, the action scenes and the stunning cinematography alone made this film worth-watching. It's a shame the whole whitewashing nonsense completely overshadowed what is arguably one of the better (western) anime adaptation in a long time, if ever. Not even most Japanese people gave a shit about the casting when they were asked lol
  8. Thoughts on the Shakeup? I think SmackDown! looks really strong right now. Styles, Nakamura, Owens, Zayn, Cena and Orton in the spotlight (who I consider the new SD! Six), plus Corbin, Rusev, Dillinger and Ziggler in the Upper/Midcard makes for an incredibly stacked roster. Also, the Women's Division got Charlotte and the Tag scene got New Day, which is just what they needed.
  9. Yeah, I saw S2E1 of AOT twice already and probably will again before Saturday. Didn't love the new OP at first but it's really grown on me (ED has so many manga spoilers/hints though, holy shit). It's a shame it's just gonna have 12 episodes but since I didn't have to wait 4 years for new episodes, I'm not that mad. MHA is amazing. I didn't even want to check it out at first but now it's become one of my favorite anime series. Can't wait to get the Blu-Ray as well.
  10. Anyone else following the new seasons of Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia? Every Saturday feels like Christmas for me. It's also a really cool experience to see the manga scenes come to life (I usually watch the anime before the manga but with AOT, that wasn't possible).
  11. I had zero hype for Mania weekend but I've enjoyed the Hall of Fame, Takeover, WM and RAW After a lot and am really excited for SmackDown! After Mania tonight (especially with all those rumours). Highlights: DDP and Angle's HOF speech DIY and Revival teaming up against AOP the NXT debut of Tommy End Aleister Black Drew McIntyre in the audience that fucking WM stage and big-ass ring above the ring Shane-Styles Tag Ladder match the return of Kurt fucking Angle the return of the fucking Broken Hardyz the return of Evil fucking Emma the return of Finn fucking Balor the return of BEACHBALLMANIA the debut of the Revival Reigns getting buried by the RAW After crowd (just ... just turn him heel ffs) Still not sure what to think about Reigns retiring Taker. I thought I'd throw a fit when Reigns became the only person besides Brock to do what countless legends were never able to do but for some reason, I wasn't as mad as I expected. Maybe because I kind of knew it was inevitable. Or maybe because it hasn't really quite hit me just yet that that was most likely Taker's final match. Either way, I think that turned Reigns into the most overpushed wrestler of all time (if he wasn't already). There's no going back from this.
  12. Have any of you guys seen Erased? It's a completed 12-episode series with thriller and time-travel elements and I think it's the most beautiful anime series I've seen so far. The cinematography is unreal.
  13. Yeah, I think I'll be reading a lot of stuff in the coming weeks. There's so much more to discover. I think this series is definitely a grower. Have you seen the Rebuild series as well? The animation is absolutely incredible and it's great to see so many iconic scenes from the anime series get the DBZ Kai treatment. After 1.11 though, there were lots of drastic changes with 3.33 turning out to be a completely different beast, which I didn't expect at all. However, I've really enjoyed it so far and I can't wait for 3.0+1.0.
  14. Lmfao I didn't expect this at all, this is funny as shit. I wish they could get this creative for RAW. Also, I wonder if New Day are gonna reference the Paige leaks. I'm not sure they'd get away with that one lol
  15. Haha exactly. I was shocked when Gotta say though, without End of Evangelion, the anime series is definitely lacking a proper ending imo. And I'm not sure where NGE ranks in my anime ranking so far but its brilliance is undeniable.
  16. Finished NGE yesterday and my head still hurts lol - I did not expect those last two episodes to fuck me up like that. EDIT: I just saw The End of Evangelion and holy. fucking. shit. Also binge-watched Rage of Bahamut (surprisingly amazing), Tokyo Ghoul (I thought it was fantastic aside from the ending which wasn't bad but not exactly satisfying either) and Noragami (loved everything about it) this past week. I think I have to catch up on the manga since neither Ghoul nor Noragami are getting third seasons anytime soon. And I haven't had the chance to see Red Turtle just yet. Not sure if I'm gonna see it in theaters or just wait for the Blu-Ray. I heard it's pretty much a silent film, so I don't really have the desire to see it ASAP, if I'm being honest.
  17. Apparently WWE just signed Kairi Hojo and may sign Io Shirai as well. (this is Kairi Hojo btw)
  18. Yeah, I'm definitely gonna sell a few (namely Metallic Blue Ranger and Heisenberg, maybe some Force Awakens Pops too) but I just pre-ordered three more, so it's a vicious cycle lol
  19. RAW is such a fucking joke lmao. I don't even get mad anymore, I just remind myself that SmackDown! exists. Watching SD! the day after RAW always makes me forget just how underwhelming the latter is. I will never understand why one show is absolutely enjoyable from start to finish, week in and week out, and the other just ... isn't. On a sidenote, I really should've watched the NJPW 45th Anniversary show instead of Fastlane today, since it had Shibata-Sabre and Okada-Tiger Mask W (=Kota Ibushi), among other things. Oh well.
  20. Not sure what series I'm gonna start binging before my next semester begins. My watch list includes: Shingeki no Bahamut (since S2 starts in April) Samurai Champloo Tokyo Ghoul Noragami Steins;Gate Erased Berserk Neon Genesis Evangelion (+ films) Afro Samurai Welcome to the NHK Elfen Lied Your Lie in April OreGairu I have no plans to watch all of these anytime soon (I'm not that crazy lol) but I want to add something else to my anime schedule besides my one-ep-a-day rewatch of Shingeki no Kyojin S1.
  21. Man, being a Pop collector is hopeless. I'm at 51 now and have plans to get at least 15 more of the upcoming releases (WWE, My Hero Academia, Seraph of the End, Hendrix, LOTR, etc.) and I'm already limiting myself to the ones I really want to own. Funko's gonna make me poor lol
  22. Ah, I see. Guess I'll have to start with the OG. You're probably right but I prefer watching the anime tbh. The only manga I'm following right now is Attack on Titan because I'm impatient lol. Boy and the Beast is about an orphan who is raised and trained by a bear. It's a bit like Karate Kid and Jungle Book and I highly recommend it, especially if you've seen and digged Hosoda's other works like Summer Wars, Wolf Children or The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I binged MHA on my off-days and it's seriously so fucking good. It reminded me a little of One Punch Man, which I'm a big fan of as well. I didn't expect to like it so much and now I'm really hyped for S2 next month. I also finished Seraph of the End recently and I think that one has quickly become my favorite anime after AOT. Maybe because it's made by the same studio and it shares the same composer ... or maybe because it's just as fucked up. I hope they announce a third season soon.
  23. Would you suggest the OG Berserk or the new one? I really want to see it but I don't know which one's better. Anyway, I just saw Boy and the Beast and holy shit, it was so good. It seems like Hosoda can do no wrong. Also binged Digimon tri yesterday and holy shit, the nostalgia. I'd love to rewatch the first four seasons of Digimon (it's been more than a decade) but I also want to check out other stuff like Tokyo Ghoul, Champloo and My Hero Academia (before S2 starts). Decisions ...
  24. Every single week, SmackDown! (and by extension, Talking Smack) is just fantastic television. They've elevated almost their entire roster, logically intertwine storylines and let rivals seamlessly move on to other feuds. The brand split revitalized the careers of Miz, Ziggler, Naomi, Wyatt, Natalya, the Usos, hell, even the Ascension and built up Corbin, Harper and Bliss incredibly well. I'm not hyped for that rumoured WM card at all but I'd love it if the Wyatt Triple Threat (which I hope is gonna happen) will be the main event. RAW was actually really good this week too (Jeri//KO, Bayley-Charlotte) but that was like, the first time in a good while - and it still suffers from being 3 hours long. I wish they'd find a way to make 205 Live RAW's third hour because even though I enjoy 205 Live as its own show, it's just too much programming every week. 2 hours don't seem enough for SD! because they use every minute of it, while RAW just drags on and on. I would've quit RAW a long time ago if they didn't draft the majority of my favorites over there.
