  3. Ha! Thanks for saving me a BB gamble. I agree this odd Amnesiac press sounds pretty good. Did you happen to order any other Radiohead vinyl from BB?
  4. Good to know for future reference. Thanks for letting us know!
  5. Thanks for all the info zoid' I am still happy w sound of amnesiac, but would be interested to have someone point out differences. No sun in Portlandia today, but here's the rest of the runouts for my Parlophone stamped discs of Amnesiac... Side a: 532765^ BC80243-01 A^ MK Side b: 532765^ BC80243-01 B^ MK Side c: 532766^ BC80243-02 C^ MK Side d: 532766^ BC80243-02 D^ MK I cannot find anything remotely close to my version on discogs.
  6. Will get a pic of Amnesiac in the sun tomorrow. See the following on side A: BC 80243-0^ A1 MK 532765^ Note: The ^ symbol looks like a capital 'A' without the horizontal line. The caret is closest character I could see to use here. Hope this helps, can write out sides b-d tomorrow as well.I do not see the hand scratched messages though. Odd.
  7. Discogs says on eeny of 2008 Parlophone OKC: D 8552291 IA NODATA 02 A-1-1- I make out: D 8552291 IA NODATA 02 A-1-1- Also see: vinyl Blair I like you you are a wonderful person Pic: https://twitter.com/wynams/status/582633877740482560?s=09
  8. I took HTTT capitol back to BN counter and said "not sure what we can do on this since I opened it .. But side b is very noisy. Do you guys have a tt perhaps?" Guy was cool, refunded no problem. Obviously a YMMV experience, but B&N has decent customer service in my dealings. Amazon is less risky return wise though, no doubt. In fact they will probably tell you to keep the refunded record. Lloyd Center had another HTTT but it looked just like the one i was returning. May try amazon before importing a Parlo HTTT from some cool vendor on discogs.
  9. My tablet camera probably not up to task to photograph deadwax markings but I will see what I can do. Fwiw labels stamped Parlophone as well as made in the u.k.
  10. Listened to Kid A Capitol, it sounds fine to me. I am not going to bother tracking down a Parlo release. As I said earlier in this thread, my Capitol HTTT (and many discogers agree) is very high on surface noise. Never heard Parlophone release of this, but that's my next goal for httt. My Amazon Capitol The Bends is similar to my take on Kid A. No major issues, sounds good enough. OKC & Amnesiac (both Parlophones) sound fantastic. Very clean!
  11. Good question. Neither of these had that label. Cleaner pic: https://twitter.com/wynams/status/582324533975105537?s=09
  12. My side B of Capitol HTTT is surface noisy. Gets really bad at where you begin. Just listened to CD to make sure. Yuck. I condemn this side just as strongly as my discogs brethren:http://www.discogs.com/reviews?release=1450558 There are some condition issues I could raise with BN customer service, so I will take a shot at refund.
  13. I only started checking BN.com and retail in 2015, so I can't say for certain. I googled it and August 2014 seems to be consistent first mentions of vinyl sightings at retail. They still could have bought old stock from someone I suppose. Would be interesting if someone got an OK Computer from a place like hastings to see what was inside.
  14. My mixed stuff has only been Capitol + Parlophone ( or Capitol + EMI for more recent stuff) which makes a lot of sense now with the info in posts on last half of previous page.
  15. Went to Clackamas TC and Lloyd Center. The only thing left in Clackamas is a Pablo Honey. Was more Radiohead at Lloyd Center at least when I left. The bn.com find in store seems to be fairly accurate.
  16. My theory thru all of this is B&N is pretty reliable on OK Computer and Amnesiac! Hopefully Best Buy gets confirmed as well, but if not, hit up a B&N IMO. Cheers
  17. White sleeves not pictured, and I do not swap them out. I keep the printed liners on releases like these minty in the gatefolds
  18. https://twitter.com/wynams/status/581903732780064769?s=15 Pics aren't great but hopefully you can make out Parlophone on the vinyl and Capitol on the jackets. Not pictured are capitol on capitols of httt/kid a
  19. 2nd store update: kid a purchased, was Capitol inside and out. Httt purchased, Capitol inside and out. OK Computer purchased, Capitol packaging, Parlophone vinyl Eating lunch at Costco now but home for pics soon (esp of Amnesiac and OK Comp)
  20. Hit up a retail Barnes & Noble in Portland, OR. Amnesiac in a Capitol Sleeve, vinyl is Parlophone. Will post pics later, heading to another B&N
  21. Emailed Amazon calmly explaining basic reasons for preferring Parlophone over Capitol, and some shoppers probably have the same preference. My main issue stated in inquiry was with Parlophone being listed on the product page, but a Capitol product was received. Fully refunded and told to keep record. More importantly, CS mentioned my inquiry would be forwarded to higher ups in hopes these listings can be cleaned up.
  22. My Amazon "The Bends" showed up ... Capitol release ... http://www.discogs.com/Radiohead-The-Bends/release/1594061 5 minor divets as well, pretty sure it would play fine. However, I have asked Amazon for return options. Not keeping this for a discount though, nor am I interested in taking another shot from Amazon on this title. Would love to hear member feedback on Amazon's Parlaphone claims on Amnesiac and Kid-A ... i.e really Capitol or Parlaphone as item description states. Going to hit up B&N on the way home .. claims this is in stock. Won't trust outer packaging, but if it too is Capitol so be it ... not going to hold out for Parlaphone Bends (differences sound negligible enough)
  23. Good thinking poster above ... I just ordered The Bends from US Amazon ($14.99) listed as Parlaphone, will inquire w Amazon CS if Capitol shows up.
  24. I complained about some corner dings on my order of 1st 3 LPs, but it could always be worse
  25. Ordered Debut, Post, Homogenic on 1/30. Got shipment confirmation on 3/15, and records arrived today. 3 LPs half way across the world in an LP mailer not marked fragile or do not bend ... one corner of the mailer got crushed so all 3 LPs have a corner crease. Safe to say I would never consider ordering from OLI ever again, but rather wait for someone stateside to get them imported. Glad this order is complete.
