I think black and ultra clear have been sold out for quite some time... white went up yesterday and is selling slowly.
Ah right, cool. Didn't notice.

Indeed, I've caught them a couple of times opening for King Gizz, good stuff. The limited sewer green edition is cool, but a little pricey.

Sweet. Holding out on some Australian distribution.

Dunno about that DSU repress, but we are getting represses of TRICK (transparent gray / blue) & RULES (transparent red / maroon) shipping in August - both /300.
-
New single going up 9 am Australian time tomorrow at the bandcamp page, gonna be limited.
Sweet, I missed out on the LP, will have to pick the single up - Rolling On is an awesome song

Got myself a not bad deal with the Recordstore deal, took 29% off shipping too (to Aus!) and included preorders, which was sweet.
Fika Recordings are having a wee sale until Sunday, they have 5 LPs up for £5 each (mostly indie & indiepop kind of stuff).
Stanley Brinks and The Wave Pictures' - My Ass is really quite fantastic, particularly for £8.5 ppd.

Because, like, she's blown up and she has access to a real studio now?
Yeah, I get that, but we've had 2 albums in 2 years, compared to 15 or so 'albums' in the 2 years prior to that, just because of the pace of the traditional 'system' in place for professional musicians to release music (see here). I'd just love the chance to hear the demos like we used to be able to - they're good shit and I'd happily pay for them given the chance.
What with the whole internet thing, and digital distribution I just feel like it should be possible.
(I do realise the irony of posting this on a forum dedicated to physical media, just think it would be cool to have the best of both worlds).
-
Shipping was horrific, but I ended up ordering the limited edition.
As much as I'm looking forward to this, I kinda miss the more demo-y stuff of old. Why not both?

Hey guys, what's this 3rd Australian version on yellow vinyl that's listed on Discogs?
-
That album from Pipe-Eye released on Flightless is really good. Everyone should check it out.
Indeed, The Babe Rainbow are also well worth a listen - good shit.
I'm pretty excited for Thee Oh See's Australian tour!
-
You still have a link to a that page? The listing I can find no longer has anything about coloured vinyl
Nah - just heard back from Norman Recs "just checked and they're black (we were told they were coloured). Sorry!"
Still cool it got repressed though!
-
I just asked Midheaven about my order and they confirm that the vinyl is black this time around.
Hmm, not sure how current it is but Norman Records have page up:
- 2LP on Flightless Coloured vinyl REPRESS finally back in. Very limited amount of copies available! (FLT011)
Thoughts?

Ordered. Shipping to Canada is icky but worth it.

Oh sweet. It's been a long time since we've had a Frankie Cosmos release.
-
I've listened to it three times and it is amazing.
Salt is way different tho.
Yeah, wasn't sure what I thought about that at first (a drum machine?!). I'm just listening through for a fourth time, and a lot of the songs have grown on me already. DSU was kinda the same, a few songs didn't really click until I'd had a few listens, and that ended up being a pretty strong AOTY contender for me.
It's definitely awesome though, liking it a lot.
-
So, it may or may not have leaked ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

Sweeeeeeeeeeet!
Caught these guys a few times now, have always been eager for them to actually release something. They were playing with an extra member last week & got some sitar going for the first time live, did make me wonder if they were working on an album or something.
-
enter springcleaning for 20% off, get this or mitski or eskimeaux
Bugger, wish I'd known about this a couple of days ago. Just picked this up along with the new Eskimeaux album (love that splatter). Any idea what the haze is for the 2nd pressing?
-
Sweet, really enjoyed First. So, you found someone to put the new one out? Any idea when I can be bathing in the new watery goodness, floating on a sea of chorus?
-
Very excited for this! Just holding out for a order somewhere with cheaper shipping to Australia, although this might be as good as it gets.
I may be in the minority, but I think Sad Sappy Sucker is fucking fantastic (although I'm a sad sappy sucker for lofi shit).
-
Cool, may have to hit you up. Could make for an interesting experiment.
-
Minimum order quantity of just 5 units?? That's pretty neat.
Can I enquire as to how you'll be pricing these (disc + time, like I've seen elsewhere?), and how long you typically take to cut a disc?
& are what sizes are you cutting - doing 12"s?

Talking to David Allen Scoli on Alex G's subreddit, he seems to think Race ain't getting pressed anytime soon:
"Sadly, the Race or Winner albums will not be on vinyl or not in the future. They were projects done and produced by Alex himself and not a record company to produce the mass copies etc. Alex will however be focussing on his newer music and his upcoming album he is currently working on hopefully due out by 2017!"
I assume this was also the case for Trick & Rules ('done and produced by Alex himself') though, so who knows? A man can dream.
