  1. The Bad-

Urban Outfitters is a waste of my time as far as mail order goes. I swear they must go out of their way to bend every corner. They are fine with returns, but its just a wast of time. Order 5 records 3 go back. The the ones I send back I think they restock only to send again. ergh!

Any Store that uses the square record mailers!

    Good Experiences-

Member Store at VinylMePlease - Very few issues, always quick to respond. Very friendly. I buy with confidence from these guys.

Indie Vinyl Den - My current go to store. They have gone out of their way to help me find stuff and when there are issues they offer many options. They seem like collectors themselves.

  2. Indie Vinyl Den does this often. Sarah from there is great to deal with and has been able to on many occasions locate copies of special vinyl releases that are sold out elsewhere. They pay more to get them and charge accordingly. Their first batch was $22.99. The trick is to buy right away or pre-sale if offered. Maybe I should practice what I preach. If you see it cheaper elsewhere let their Twitter guy know and often will match/beat the deal.

  3. That's a good idea, but like this Four Tet record. There is a reason why it was out of print. It was not well received when it was originally released and its a compilation. So 45RPMs, Black Vinyl, Cocktail Recipe, Print does not equal $25 bucks. I guarantee this record becomes cheap on ebay or discogs quick like many of the other Vinyl Me Please releases have and I bet it eventually gets a regular release maybe missing some of the extra tracks.

  4. I still can't jump on the subscription bandwagon. A lot of money for what you get. Plus if color vinyl is what you are collecting, then you may as well collect old plates as they are just as colorful and cheaper. Maybe for people who have no music clue, the subscription thing is good. I see it as an overpriced way to get stuff you really don't want and all they are doing is throwing sparkly things like color vinyl, drink recipes (wtf), and pointless art prints to make you think it's special. It's not special, it's a club anyone can join if they like over spending on records. Other than that I guess they are alright ;) I'll stick with Amazon/Amoeba etc.
