  2. Haha. Seriously thanks now. I've got the double bristled brush. Works great, just doesn't help with static at all. I will have to try out some liquid cleaner now.
  3. Tons of thanks. It was a simple question that I haven't been able to answer after looking at numerous cleaning videos and guides.
  4. Sargent House Only because friends recently got on that label. Native. It also helps that I love every band on that label.
  5. So I don't get what it is about brand new records, but I can't never get all the little bits of dust off of them. I've got an lp gear brush. Run it around record and slid out with it. Gets 90 percent of the dust. Still just that little bit that won't clean off and makes little pops while listening. Any help with cleaning these? or an answer to why new records hold on to dust so much? zach
  6. dont tell ebay that. i'm trying my luck there. hopefully the sony ones i'm keeping will be good enough to put my uncles complete buddy holly on. 6 record box set, should've stole it from him. haha.
  7. I can vouch for that too. It sounds like they used a pop can for a microphone. It's just wayyyyyy too loud. Everything clips off. I've hardly been able to listen to it. B side, All or Nothing, doesn't sound too bad though.
  8. Well, a quick ebay search of the 5 pack of maxwell had them going for 15... Valuable to me as I'd been looking for tapes and stumbled across these nice ones.
  9. I've got a sealed 5 back of "vintage" 80s maxell UR 90s and 5 sealed sony hifi 60 minute tapes. Anyone want to trade for these? I might want to keep the sony tapes though as they're not as valuable and I need a few still, unless there is a good offer. zach
  10. i'm just upset it needs to be instant paypal. no echecks. guess i'm not getting this.
  11. Anyone got horror stories or stories of mystery record damage? My minus the bear - beer commercials some how managed to get a scratch or something that cause a loud pop at the end of 2 and start of track 3 on the b side. Only like 20 seconds at most. Just upset that I haven't got the slightest clue how it happened! zach.
  12. dang, i really wanted that. won't take echeck from paypal, needs credit card.
  13. how is it ht got those records? Was there a repress?
  14. also, season 1 of my name is earl, its never been opened.
  15. Not sure if this is the place to be doing this... But I've got Family Guy dvd sets 2,3,4, and 5. Would anybody be interested in those? -zach
  16. I'm curious if anyone else has this with the lyrics sheet misprinted? My lyrics sheet has side 1 printed on both sides. -zach
  17. Bump Anyone have 3rd (4th? It's the blue or red press) pressing of Highly Refined Pirates? Seeing as how that was just barely 15 shipped new, two months ago... I'm wondering if I can find it for ~20 shipped.
  18. i take it you're new to the game. what LPs you got so far? do you have a set up? and really, the only reason to keep something sealed is that you intend on flipping it later. no way around it, unless you have multiples of the same. then you can keep one sealed if you wish. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pRyOKe8nGXdGOIirJFSwTdw Didn't put in some of the ones I've got from my dad. Adam ant! Apparently getting like 100 old records from a family friend? Setup - Technics SL-D2 with audio technica at110e (nothing special) Sony STR 7065 (70s stereo receiever) 2 way Kenwood speakers (maybe 2 foot tall) Tandberg TCD300 cassette deck I get why everyone thought I was being a... newb? I don't think I'd ever really leave a record sealed, just wondered if anyone actually did that.
  19. I got a sealed copy of this and opened it without hesitation, what's the point in buying records (especially at the amount YFW will set you back) if you're not going to enjoy them? I'd be afraid of tainting its beauty. haha. If I listened to YFW on vinyl, I'd probably die. It would be such a religious experience for me. Really, any Brand New would do that. Probably same goes for s/t New Found Glory.
  20. I didn't imply that I meant I would buy records and do that. It just seems like there are a lot of collectors here and wonder if they listened to the records they specifically hunt down for part of an entire band vinyl pressings.
  21. Ok ok. I was hoping that was the general answer. Just asking because I see people have entire Against Me collections and cant help but wonder if they're actually ever listening to them. I think the only record I would never open would be if I was given like...Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon still sealed up.
