  1. I went a couple years ago and had fun. I had a friend that lived there so I stayed with him. There are some awesome hikes around anchorage and beyond. Anchorage is the coolest city and it is very small. The drive to fairbanks is like 8 or 9 hours with no speed limits, no buildings(wildlife preserve) and no cars and maybe a moose or two. Fairbanks kinda sucked but there were some cool hot springs about an hour away that has an ice hotel that is expensive as fuck and its all run by geothermal energy. Its nice in the summer about 65-70 degrees and daylight most of the day. you can be out doing stuff til almost midnight and its still bright out.

not much in the way of record stores. they have a few hot topics though. not many punk shows either. they are still stoked on the against me tour that went to all 50 states.

definitely check out the glaciers and ice worms. there are a couple cool aquariums near anchorage.

  2. 75 bucks - remembering never-god save us test press from mean pete but he included 4 of the other colors with it so 5 records for 75 is not that bad. 35 bucks jawbreaker-chesterfield king LP. 30 bucks jawbreaker/crimpshrine 7". 25 bucks jawbreaker-whack and blite black vinyl.

i won the warriors-family matters test press for 10 bucks and got 2 other 7"s with it a few months ago.

    all of these are ebay.

  3. maybe. i don't buy nearly as much vinyl in summer due to the heat. i haven't even checked ebay lately. my record rides around in the mail truck in the sun all day til it gets to my house. if im home great, but if not it then has to sit somewhere hot til i can get it.

i think your theory has some validity, i will start hunting on ebay when the temps cool down and my records hopefully won't warp in the mail.

  4. community of friends records is a pretty rad place i visited there but i think it might be closed down. there was one more that i visited but can't remember the name. i only picked up a couple things due to the 110 degree heat and flying with them. if you search online several will pop up.

some of the best vegetarian restaraunts that i have eaten at were in vegas. also some kids run punk rock baseball once a week that was a lot of fun.
