  3. Shit, Paul - it totally slipped my mind that we have like, 200 non-screened Best Practices records on which we can draw wieners all over the b-side! I think we're starting a brand new trend in vinyl collecting and the way most labels approach color variants. Take a bow people: you're all part of something revolutionary!

ps - my fantasy football team is named Triple Kittens.

best team name ever!! if you don't win based on that alone.....there are problems.

  4. Hey Jimmy and Ryan - send your clear LPs back to me and I'll draw all over them with a blue sharpie. I can even doodle some penis + balls if you'd like. They'll look awesome it will undoubtedly raise their value for future eBay flipping!

Of course, I kid. Unless someone really does want me to draw penis + balls on your records. Seriously, someone please request this.

With Rainbo, unless it's clear with black smoke, it never seems to turn out all that great. Not terrible, but definitely not what we had envisioned. If you put the clear on top of the white dust sleeve, you can actually see a lot more of the blue.

Does anyone have the clear w/ yellow Restorations LP? That just ended up looking like piss. It's always a crap shoot with most plants because you're basically just throwing different colored plastics in the mix and hoping that it comes close to what you're aiming for. Of course, some are better at it than others. When I asked Rainbo about doing half and half, splatter, etc etc, they told me that because they have automated presses, they have far less control over that stuff. I guess you need hand presses to get really creative with your vinyl.

On the plus side, Rainbo's vinyl is always nice and thick and we've never had a issue with a bad pressing.

ps - I can also draw boobs.

chuck, have at ALL the non-silkscreened copies of the Best Practices LP. guaranteed they sell faster with dicks drawn on them....

  5. Hey everyone

I sent out my last batch of Dikembe pre-orders today (about 25 packages) and Will said that he's got about 20 more international orders to do, which will go out on Monday.

Thanks for your patience and support. All in all it took us about a week to assemble, pack up and ship out close to 300 orders. Not too shabby, but I'm friggin' tired.

By the way, as people have mentioned, the vinyl turned out pretty cool, but I think that the jackets look sick. I don't know why we didn't really mention it before, but we did a UV spot gloss / matte coating thing that just kills it.

Finally, if anyone pre-ordered the Tigers Jaw repress, that should be shipping to us from the plant on Monday, and the Restorations LP repress is supposed to be done at the end of the week. I suspect that pre-orders for those records will ship to customers in about two weeks. Then in mid-Sept, we'll launch pre-orders for the Run, Forever LP and the Jowls 10".

And yes, expect Chicago Bowls sooner than later!

i am such a sucker for spot-gloss. it came out killer!! very excited to hear about Chicago Bowls. i was going to offer doing it to them at I Got Brains...but i little birdie told me i was too late. haha

  6. hey everyone-

thoughts i'd post a little update on stuff here at TJRHQ.

first off, we want to congratulate Jarrod from Now Denial on his marriage to his awesome wife!!! we love seeing the Tor Johnson family growing!!

now to the nitty-gritty. it looks like the 10-Year 7" Comp is over 1/3rd gone!!! thanks to everyone who ordered a copy. if you don't have one...what are you waiting for?!?! rare/unreleased stuff from Now Denial, Saint Jude, Pretty Faces, and the last song ever recorded by A Fine Boat That Coffin. comes with a download code for 9 extra songs with unreleased stuff from Weak Teeth, Jesuscentric, Closer Than Kin, and The Defeat. you can get this (and our other releases) through Ebullition, Stickfigure, Interpunk, Armageddon (Boston & Providence), Olympic, or our webstore.

we made a TJR playlist on Spotify so you can check out all the stuff we have going on. check it out and try some new music. keep in mind, there are some releases not on there...guess you need to order one cause those are analog only releases. but we will keep added more releases to this list as they come out!! check it: http://www.facebook....151236670615802

so, it looks like Weak Teeth will be hitting the road in late September. make sure you go check them out if they come to your town. pick up a copy of What A Plague You Are LP, if you don't already have a copy:
