    Burlington, VT’s Tyler Daniel Bean is back with a brand new 2-song 7″ on Tor Johnson / Kat Kat Records. You can listen to “I Was Wrong” from Everything You Do Scares Me on Absolute Punk now. The 7″ is available in three color variants (Kat Kat Records, Tor Johnson Records, and Tyler himself will each have an exclusive variant). Planned for a July 9th release, both labels have multiple pre-order options now available in their online stores. Pre-Order from Tor Johnson or Kat Kat.

     

    Everything You Do Scares Me follows up Bean’s debut LP, Longing, released in 2012 on Kat Kat Records. 

     

    With his critically acclaimed 2012 debut LP, Longing, behind him, Tyler Daniel Bean returns with Everything You Do Scares Me—a 2 song 7″ that examines the deep-seated effects of loss and our innate ability to accept life’s ebb and flow in and out of normalcy. Housed in a beautiful hand-screened chip-board jacket, this record is a perfect modern-day addition to all those 90s emo records that have worn thin on your turntable from years and feelings long passed.

     

    Lyrically and musically, these songs portray the fleeting sadness and the necessary sorrow that we must embrace before looking to the inevitable future. These songs are surely sad, but they are sad in a profound and thoughtful way.

    Monument's still around?? those dudes are waaay too lowkey it seems.. still one of the best bands around.

    speaking of wood burned covers, did I manage to get one? I ordered pretty late I think, but it's worth asking. I was the order w/ the Pretty Faces 7"!

    yup!!! they are still playing....whenever they feel like it. haha. they were just part of one of those Count Your Lucky Stars split things. & are writing for a new record.

     

    and, YOU DID!! you just squeezed in. i think you were the 8th one ordered.

    bump this. should have the record in hand & shipping in a couple weeks. 

     

    sorry to anyone that is confused by this: if you want my color, order from me; want tim's, order from him; want both, order from either...want the BP exclusive color.....gonna have to wait to see them live (at Fest?) or i think they will put their's for sale on their bandcamp when everything comes in.

     

    anyway, super excited to be working with tim on this!! the record is coming together awesomely!

    Pre-Orders will be going live for the latest release by Providence RI's Best Practices, "Sore Subjects", on Monday 5/6/13 between 2pm & 3pm EST. Options will include: 1 copy of the record on either the Tor Johnson Records or Willow Tree exclusive colors (brown marble & white, respectively) or 2 copies of the record on each exclusive color. There is also an exclusive shirt option. The first 10 people to order through Tor Johnson Records will receive exclusive wood burned cover art from artist Jeff Byers. There will also be an exclusive color available through the band, which will only be available at shows & directly from them. Thank you so much for all your support.


     

    Crafted over a mild winter, Providence, RI’s Best Practices return with Sore Subjects. Some of the members have called the sophomore effort “a natural progression” from their debut The EP LP, released on Tiny Engines last year. Other members are more concerned with Poco Loco Tacos to be trifled with such nonsense as reflection. Clocking in around 11 minutes with 4 songs, Sore Subjects is a taste of something equal parts familiar, refreshing, aggressive, and passionate. Narcs need not apply.

    little update: Best Practices 7" is getting closer. hopefully test presses & therefor pre-orders will be soon. we're going to do a cheap pre-order with the record & special exclusive packaging, and a cool package with an exclusive shirt Best Practices shirt.

    May 3rd - Best Practices & Collision @ No Problemo, New Bedford

    May 4th - Thrillhouse, Best Practices, & Maritime Pilot @ AS220, Providence

    Best Practices' EP LP was one of last years best releases, glad to hear you're working with them.

     

    thank you so much! we're super happy to be a part of this record. just to prepare you, there will be exclusive colors available strictly through us, the band, and Willow Tree....and black for stores and such. once we approve test presses we'll announce pre-order options. we'll do one for just the record with special packaging and another including a shirt option. can't wait to get this out to the world.

    so, its been a while since i posted one of these. figured might as well.

     

    -New Releases- so, we have decided to put out the new 7" from Providence's Best Practices called Sore Subjects. we're releasing it with Willow Tree Records. should be out soon. we'll announce pre-order shit once test presses get approved. you can listen to the follow up to last year's The EP LP (put out by Tiny Engines) at bestpractices.bandcamp.com . We are also happy to announce we will be putting out a new 7" from Burlington's Tyler Daniel Bean called Everything You Do Scares Me with Kat Kat Records. this should be out by his tour in July. it'll come in hand silk-screened chipboard packaging. also, we'll announce pre-order stuff when the time is right. lastly, we will be releasing a DVD of the 10-Year Anniversary Show we help last year. this has been a long editing process, but the goal is to have it out in time for this year's Foo Fest at AS220. can't say why, but trust me you want to take the day off for that show and come rock out.

     

    -Shows- we have a couple shows coming up. if you can, come hang out: May 4th Thrillhouse, Best Practices @ AS220; May 23rd Tenants, Choke Up, Somos, Bad Swimmers (mem. Verse, Mouth Of Flowers, Masthead) @ AS220. we will also be at the May 5th Providence Rock & Roll Yardsale with tons of goodies. new shirt designs, sales on TJR release, and about 1000 used $1 LPs.
