Wow...I just read a post from one of my relatives on face book. She's fairly conservative and goes to church regularly and has two kids and she posted that big thing about how we already have a ton of social services. Not in a negative light but a very positive one and how social services are very important. Then there's like some 60 year old women who commented below her with, "And social security too. Where would we be if that was privatized?" I gotta say, I'm really presently surprised by that...like blown away really.

As for the Canadian healthcare system, I don't think it's ideal. In fact I know it's not but I don't feel our system right now is functional either. Ultimately (and this is a "one day we'll all have flying cars" type thing), we need to change our point of view from the self centered, money driven view point. When we realize our country's well being is determined by not only the well being of its economy but its people and the people we come into contact with. Humanity isn't supposed to be divided among imaginary lines of boarders or economy. When everyone wakes up and realizes it's in their own best interest to look after the interest of their neighbor, then we can actually make some progress.

I use it pretty much to touch base with friends. It also allowed me to pick up som Fake Problems tests and possibly set up an O' Pioneers show.

This is exactly what killed Clinton's idea for health care (not saying it was good or bad). He tried to open it up and let everyone look at it and understand. The problem is American's are so stupid and fearful of anything new that they never seek to understand, they just seek to keep things the same. Obama had the right idea by trying to keep this a government issue and not one for the people. the more you let American's get involved with their own lives the more the fuck it up.
