  1. Post where you're from and list some or all of your favorite local bands.

Here in the Twin Cities of Minnesota there's a wealth of great local groups. Here are some of my favorites:

    The Drug Budget: http://youtu.be/8jY-UazEkRQ

I'm a little biased because the singer plays drums in my band but they are awesome.

    Cadette: http://cadettecadettecadette.tumblr.com/post/15728216494#notes

slower and dirty. Loud. Great drummer.

    The Blind Shake:

    Amazing live band.

    Disasteratti: http://youtu.be/HDS2vzzkXew

Touch & Go-esque stuff. Loud and ugly.

    Teenage Moods: http://youtu.be/Jj1ZfqhSiHs

Nothing too original. Open chords and melodies. Just good Rock and Roll.

    Hyperslob: http://youtu.be/o7pp1jus6rM

Drummer from Tennage Moods sings. Awesome two chord pop.

    Nightosaur: http://youtu.be/IqgXct7b3cE

    Shirtless dude rock.

    Animal Lover: http://youtu.be/qzEYGyL3a0w (dark video)

    LOUD AS FUCK.

Dude, I've pretty much lost touch with a lot of the local MN stuff these days but a few years ago before they broke up, Baby Guts were soooo awesome and Retards In Love were also really cool. Not sure if RIL are still around but I recommend those if you get a chance.

  2. Someone else mentioned this too but I'd like to see the "Vinyl Collective Cooperative Label" section become a cassette board. I'm not really sure what purpose it serves now. Been lurking the Cassette Coalition that Kriss set up (and not to steal his thunder or anything) but I don't know, I just think it'd be cool for those of us into tapes. I know I've been buying tapes much more than records lately, and a lot of it has to do with it being much cheaper, but I enjoy the format as much as I do records.
