Whilst I'm not a massive vinyl collector (I probably fit under the title of "music fan" rather than "vinyl collector") there are 2 LPs that I feel are missing from my collection. I am a massive fan of Travis, and have been for a very long time. I have got all of their albums on vinyl, except for 'The Man Who' and 'Ode to J. Smith'. So to complete my Travis collection at least, I'm on the hunt for both of these. When they appear on eBay, they're always pretty pricey, so hopefully somebody on here can cut me a good deal for these.

Most recently, my highest bid on eBay for The Man Who was £55, but I didn't win - so I suppose £50-60 is my upper limit for that. I'm less keen on Ode to J.Smith, so I'd be willing to offer up to £30 for it.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

I went up to £80 for the latest copy of The Man Who to appear on eBay and STILL didn't win it. Anyone know where I can get a copy? Thanks.

I'm sure many will have seen this advertised on TV.  23 issues are currently planned for the series. Each single album issue will cost £9.99 and every double/triple album issue will cost£24.99. Doesn't seem too bad individually but at one issue every fortnight it's a bit of an expensive commitment to go the whole route, plus they ask for 28 days notice to cancel. Unless it's maybe possible to place a subscription via a newsagents.

I imagine quite a few copies will turn up on ebay however.

I got Abbey Road already (despite already owning a copy) yesterday. Seems to be the exact same as the 2009 remastered copy I have! Sounds great and very impressed with the artwork and disc, etc. I too thought it'd be a cheaply pressed copy, but seems legit.

Btw, £9.99 is the introductory offer price. Future single albums will be £17.99 - which I still think is a pretty good deal considering they're at least £20 in HMV or Fopp or wherever - and £25 for double and triple albums is an absolute steal!

Can't wait to collect them all. I feel about 8 again when I collected all the editions of that dinosaur magazine to make a glow-in-the-dark Tyrannosaurus Rex! :D

  4. I've got a brand new Sony LX300 turntable for Christmas, plugged into the AUX input of my Panasonic SC-HC29 Hi-Fi. Love it! :D

This was my #nowplaying post on Instagram earlier this evening :)

I had to get a new centre unit from IKEA to fit. Previously I had the Hi-Fi on top with a smaller Bush turntable underneath in the previous unit - but the Hi-Fi didn't fit underneath and my new Sony LX300 didn't fit neatly on top. So I had to stretch the whole thing out with a new centre unit. Hence why the cables are still visible - I haven't got round to drilling a hole in the back of the new cabinet behind the Hi-Fi to slot all the wires through there. Hopefully it'll look a lot more streamlined once I've done that - but I love my new set up!

  5. Hi.

I recently got the Sony LX300 turntable for Christmas and absolutely love it! Much better than my Bush turntable/radio combo with built-in speakers.

Just wondering if anyone else has this turntable and if they have upgraded any part of it? Whilst I'm far from an audiophile, I'm curious about replacing the slipmat and/or stylus to see if it improves the sound of my records further.

    Thanks!
