  1. http://www.statuestorytapes.blogspot.com Quote Ominous pop jarred loose from a garage and a basement, Brain Flannel have hazarded five overdriven songs onto magnetic tape for your enjoyment. Interloping male & female vocals dart through a brash instrumentation that would fit nicely on a mixtape with early SAINTS, AVENGERS, and BAGS. And they talk about drugs. You can hear songs http://www.myspace.com/brainflannel 100 tapes exist, there are less than 30 left. They are now only available at lunchbox and from the band (they have a few copies left) http://www.lunchboxrecords.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=542 Grave Mistake, Sorry State, and a few other cassette distros will have these, or already do, but from what I understand the first two are the will have them available online once lunchbox is sold out.
  2. Get them to special order stuff. Even if it costs a buck or two more, at least the money is going in the right direction.
  3. 'I'm a pop sensation" - buy from an independent online store then, or BETTER YET, have the local order stuff that you want! Special orders do so much for small record stores. The biggest thing you'll notice is that they now know there is a demand for stuff you like, and might stock it more often. I know that a lot of times, when we special order something for someone at the store I work at, we often order a copy to sell in the store because we now know someone is interested! Seriously, independent stores help out punk rock on a small and large scale, and ignoring them in favor of shopping for a fucking MALL STORE is such a step in the wrong direction!
  4. I can't believe I'm seeing people defend shopping at hot topic for records. support your local independent record store, or buy from an independent record store online. Not trying to out-punx anyone, or anything of that matter. If you have any interest in keeping a sustainable scene support people, not corporations.
  5. there are seriously a hundred j church records, and most aren't worth anything because they put out way..too..much..music.
  6. i can tell you that i have never given anyone the axe or told anyone to axe anyone for shit talking. I did take down the thread because joe asked me to. since he started the thread, I honored his request. Since this was started by servo can we continue the discussion in here about him being a talentless artist who is taking other peoples' art and selling it to people on here? or is that taboo now that someone finally called him out on it?
  7. if they're 10"s from the 50's, they're undoubtedly 78's, and you probably don't want to play them on your turntable unless you are going to buy a new needle just to play them. playing 78's RUINS needles, and most good turntables won't play them anyway (though a few dj turntables started to allow you by holding the 33 and 45 buttons at the same speed)
  8. Didn't they switch plants because of some CRAZY outstanding balance at Pirate/GZ?
  9. I'm going to be sending out packages tomorrow after my first day teaching!
  10. I'll do 90 bucks for the Every time I die and mewithoutyou combined including shipping. I just don't need those records. someone bust their x-mas money and help me afford this stupid amp I bought and the stupid records I bought tonight at the youth-attack records showcase.
  11. I think I got the mewithoutyou as part of a trade. What the fuck do I need a test press for of a band I'm not really into.
  12. Also, if anyone wants to buy more than one thing I'll cut the price, and if you want to make a reasonable offer I'll probably accept it. I'll also sell all three for 115 ppd
  13. offer - Mewithoutyou-“A-B Life” (test press #4/38) $50 - Every Time I Die-“Box Set” (color vinyl version) $50 - Death Cab for Cutie-"Translanticism" (2xlp 180gram limited) - Barsuk This is my first post on this board, so this totally looks like I'm a bullshit rip-off artist, but: I have the same user name on vlv, have been there for years I have the same user name on df, been there since the begining and I have perfect feedback on ebay: robxburninator I also figured this place would be more interested that either of those boards for those three things. I have a tradelist at vlv, but not at df anymore since they switched to the new tradelist layout. I bought an amp today I can't afford, and need to be able to pay rent.
