I just picked up a Bang & Olufsen BeoMaster 4500 only to discover it doesn't have a phono pre amp.  This is the first amp I've owned without one, and I really don't know what I'm looking for when shopping for one.  Although I'd love a "budget" solution, I'd be willing to spend a bit more if it would really complement my set-up and improve sound quality.  What I would like to avoid, though, is overspending on something that outpaces the rest of my gear or saving a few bucks but ending up with my new weakest link.

Pro-Ject RPM 1.3

Ortefon 2M Red

Klipsch KP 101's

B&O RL 60's

 

I really appreciate any advice you guys can give.

I got super lucky yesterday when the picture disc popped up (again) on the Amoeba site.  Disappeared right after I ordered so maybe it was just the one copy.  Just got my shipping confirmation!

The only Plain record I have is Loveless, and luckily I too only paid about $12 for it.  Hopefully we'll get a proper reissue sometime soon.

Do we know when this goes up yet?

So is the one coming out on record store day the exact same thing as the Mondo website release or is it actually a picture disc as was said originally?  On page 44 of this thread, it looks like Mondo confirms that this is the exact same release.  Or am I missing something?

You are missing something.  The RSD version is a picture disc.  The release that Mondo confirmed as being the exact same release is out in stores the end of May.

Wouldn't it be possible for those LPs to be mixed color as well. I doubt want to beat a dead horse but this whole thing has been a little confusing.
