(though I'm not sure you like new Lifetime).
I seriously have a hard time believing people who say they liked Lifetime's two Jade Tree albums but don't like the new one.

I'm only 20 mins away from you guys, down in Akron.
about 40 minutes from you...down in Youngstown.
Well hell, it's an Ohio party in here! (Although I'm a cheater, I just moved here three years ago.)
If any of you are ever going to shows in Cleveland, holler -- it would be nice to nerd out in public about colored vinyl.

Do we know each other? I feel like I should, if you're as obsessed with this stuff as I am.

I think the drummer completely and utterly holds Pelican back, too, but I can also see how people don't think that. I am a drummer, so I analyze his movements much more than any other player's, and I always scrutinize the things he chooses to play because I think a different part could make the song "better." But I know people who think his off-time drumming completely makes the band. So to each their own.

The Bronx's first album was released on vinyl, but I think it was through their White Drugs label, not through Ferret proper.
Remembering Never also released their latest album on vinyl with different artwork, re-sequenced tracklisting and added/dropped tracks; it was a split release between Double Or Nothing and Dead Truth: http://altpress.com/news/713.htm

I picked this up on 180-gram black, but it contained my biggest pet peeve ever -- when I removed the inner sleeve (which is a picture sleeve), the record had already ripped through the bottom. I hate when that happens!
-
All I could find is that it's "limited edition" on four different colors, the rarest being gold:

I imagine they made a few thousand; they're all long gone now. I have a copy on green, too (probably the same as your teal).

I am leaning towards No - at least/especially for pre-releases

oh my god. i think the most i paid for a record was like 80 dollars, either for the promo-only "this could be love" picture disc by alkaline trio or their picture disc split with the blue meanies. i think.
Man, it paid to work at a record store in the late '90s. I bought that Meanies/Trio split for all of $3 when it came out.

what songs are on the demoSeconded on all accounts. I had two opportunities to pick that up at shows in mid-2001 and passed both times. [slaps forehead]
I did buy Brand New's CD-R demo, though, and whenever I need to put my kids through college, that'll be the first thing on eBay. I figure it'll get me a good semester's worth.

That's a pretty good deal, I've seen it go close to $100 before
I remember the first time I saw Brand New was in Baltimore in the Fall of 2001 right before your favorite weapon came out and they were selling The Rookie Lot/Yearly Split 7" for a buck and for some reason I was like "nah"... biggest mistake I ever made

they never really announced they were repressing them. They just did. you just thought they dumped their extra stock and it changed colors?
I never knew what colors the original ones were (I didn't really follow the series at all, I've just been picking them up recently); so if they're black, they're original?
-
Those aren't leftovers, they're represses.
When did Fat say they were repressing these? I totally missed that. I just thought they dumped their extra stock.

I noticed this starting to be discussed in another thread, so I figured I'd make a new one: Use this thread to post links to anywhere that still has any of the NOFX singles club 7-inches still in stock. I've been able to track down 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10 but need the rest.
-Vinyl Collective currently has 2, 4, 8, 9 and 10
-Interpunk currently has 4, 8, 9 and 10
-RevHQ currently has 4, 8, 9 and 10
-Smartpunk currently has 8
-No Idea currently has 8, 9, 10 and 12
-Very currently has 4, 8 and 9
Anyone know of any distros/stores that have any others?

There's some cheap shit to be had there, especially vinyl (a lot of which is out of print). If you're looking for impulse buys, I personally recommend the Man Without Plan "Shop Talk" CD for $1.75. That band fucking rules, and no one knows who they are.

I'm so proud that I coined the phrase "the motherfucking man" when referring to Ted Leo. It's nice to know I'll leave a legacy after I'm dead and buried.

Nofx - Punk In Drublic - RIAA GOLD Award
How in the heck did you get this?? And how in the heck did no one else on here already ask this???

Stoked beyond belief.

I had to do two lists:
7-INCHES
1. Alkaline Trio - Halloween & Trio/Smoking Popes split (the first was a gift from a friend who went to the Halloween show; the second, I got at their New Years show last year)
2. Blink-182/Swindle split (Mislabeled -- vinyl actually Blink's "They Came To Conquer Uranus" 7-inch just w/wrong labels -- only known in existence)
3. Blue Meanies/MU330 split (BM cover "Stone Cold Crazy" and MU330 cover "Vacation" -- I absolutely adore this record)
4. All my Braid 7-inches (all but one are original pressings purchased back when the band were still together -- I missed the boat on "Niagara" first time around but got the repress at their final show)
5. Jimmy Eat World/Jejune split (first pressing, two of my favorite JEW songs and two INCREDIBLE songs by Jejune -- I used to play the Jejune side every morning as I got ready for my sophomore year of high school on this junky record player passed down to me)
6. the Faint/Ex-Action Figures split (This was right when the Faint went from boring indie rock band to awesome synth-punk band back in 99 -- I saw them play in a record store in '99 right before Blank Wave Arcade came out and picked this up after their set)
7. Franklin - Major Taylor (one of my all-time favorite songs -- they re-recorded this for their last album, but the 7-inch version is superior)
8. Motion City Soundtrack - Promenade/Carolina (this record's almost 10 years old, from the very first incarnation of MCS -- super-duper rare, and I got it for $3 about 7 years ago)
9. The Promise Ring/Texas Is The Reason split (two amazing songs from two amazing bands)
10. Saves The Day - I'm Sorry I'm Leaving (on white, screenprinted cover -- I won this at Krazyfest 4 in 2001. One of my most prized possessions)
LPs
1. Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit / I Lied My Face Off 12-inch EP (it paid to live in Illinois when the Trio were coming up)
2. Ben Folds Five - The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner (my favorite BF5 album)
3. Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon (on white) & Deja Entendu
4. The Faint - Blank-Wave Arcade Remixes (picture disc)
5. Hot Water Music - No Division (original pressing on Some; my favorite HWM record)
6. Jimmy Eat World - Static Prevails (different cover art than the CD, missing the bonus 7-inch though -- picked it up for $2 years ago)
7. Lifetime - Lifetime (on red; picked this up at their Detroit show in April -- they only had 3 left for the whole tour, or so they said)
8. Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster (gatefold cover; I'm guessing this is out of print? I've had it for years and still haven't bought it on CD)
9. V/A - Dad, Are We Punk Yet? (one of the first comps I ever owned way back in the mid-'90s)
10. All five Weezer LPs (although Blue and Pinkerton are reissues -- boo)
One thing I noticed while going through these was that virtually all of them were bought at the time period they were released -- very little eBaying going on here.
-
I've only seen one copy of "Downward Is Heavenward" on vinyl, and that's when I bought it off eBay for $10-15 for my brother's Christmas present a few years ago. I would kill to have my own copy.
Same with No Knife, too -- I have all their 7-inches but none of their LPs on vinyl. It pains me.
-
So it's sort of like half.com for records. I'm totally down.
-
The new Bad Brains comes in a gatefold and is on red, yellow and green vinyl -- it's really something.
-
Well said!
And I'd love to buy a copy of "That Much Further West" from someone if they're dealing.
What Releases Should Come Out on Vinyl?

I know "Battle Hymns" by Suicide Machines came out on vinyl (I remember selling a bunch of copies in the record store I worked at back in 98), but I don't think any of the others ever did.
