They also seem to be remastering it now per Instagram. That will be a different release I imagine? Seems it’s not done yet- 3,567 replies

Cynic just released new variants in their US shop: https://www.indiemerch.com/cynic/pre-orders Clear, gold, black and picture available. Just grabbed the clear and a hat! Crazy pricey with shipping but fuck it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUQX6sYJrEQ/ Edit: Actually if you order from the main indiemerchstore page instead of theirs you can use the promo code IMSKITTY10 for 10% off (or get their newsletter signup one) https://www.indiemerchstore.com/search?type=product&options[prefix]=last&options[unavailable_products]=last&q=cynic+- 3,567 replies

I agree it's ridiculous. I texted their support number and got this reply: Disappointed to see those changes will be coming, definitely makes me less likely to order from them when the shipping cost is 1/3 the price of the record and there's not much volume discount, but at least we can get the old rates for now.- 3,567 replies

Pounder has a new LP Breaking The World coming out soon that sounds super killer (NWOBHM from members of Exhumed, Gruesome, Carcass, and Nausea). Streaming in full here: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2021/01/25/pounder-heavy-metal/ Pre-orders are up: https://exhumed.bigcartel.com/ I just grabbed the orange/blue split, can't wait.- 3,567 replies

Cartridge advice for Denon DP-300f
yuletide replied to jaselynch's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but thought it best to keep all the context above, let me know if I should repost as a new thread! Do folks think it's still worth the ~$300 for the DL-110? Are there any newer carts worth considering? In researching the AT440 I saw there is now a new version, AT440MLB which is $200 new on Amazon vs. $250 for the DL-110 on ebay. Someone on another forum also suggested my best ROI would be to upgrade the built in pre-amp first. Was hoping to keep my total spend under $300 after already dropping so much on the table (wondering if I should have just gotten a Rega after all). Any suggestions? Better to leave it and spend more on cart? Or get both? I was very disappointed with the DP 300f sound out of the box, for me the whole point of Vinyl was to unlock new perspectives and dimensions in the music. If anything it feels constrained/compressed/veiled which makes me not want to use the TT much. I listen mostly to very dense METAL, so staying away from the midrangey carts like Grado.
