OUT NOW MID014 DISSEKERAD "S/T" LP Dissekerad is a new band from Stockholm, Sweden with current-and ex-members of TOTALITAR, AVSKUM, INSTITUTION, MAKABERT FYND, and others. As you would expect from that pedigree, they deliver no frills, traditional Swedish D-beat. Maximum RockNRoll called it "classic" and we agree: it sounds like the best of the style because it's played by members who have been banging away at their craft for decades. The self-titled LP contains 11 songs that are firmly D-beat in execution with enough ingenuity and creativity to keep things sounding new. Come On Die Young was a Phoenix, Arizona based band that people compared to Leatherface, Hot Water Music, Mike Kirsch projects (e.g., Torches To Rome, Bread & Circuits, Fuel, etc), and Refused. We (Man In Decline Records) released two records by them that have flown under the radar. We think Vinyl Collective would be into the style, so we decided to post a few buying options here for you of the remaining stock. For those who don't know, the band broke up in the middle of production of this 12", so we stopped production and only made 50 numbered test presses of the record with screen printed jackets. Preorders to be posted next week: Oblivionation "Cult of Culture" 7" In December 2010, in the midst of personal tragedies and frustrations, Oblivionation was started in Lowell MA by guitarist Quinn Dillon and drummer John Evicci (ex-OUT COLD). The goal of the band was simple: create the most caustic hardcore that they possibly could, with their chief influences being bands like POISON IDEA, AGNOSTIC FRONT, and FINAL CONFLICT. They were soon joined by ex-Out Cold guitarist, John Kozik, on bass and they recorded a demo with no vocals. After nearly a year of searching, they connected with Mark Fields (ex Proclamation), who took over vocal duties, and they were able to release one of the best demos of 2012. Like their past projects, Oblivionation does not follow trends: they create blistering hardcore on their own terms, but always consistent: short, fast, pissed. Before the departure of Kozik, they recorded a yet to be unreleased LP. Now with Mike Connolly (Bloodkrow Butcher) on bass, the band brings us the "Cult of Culture" EP. The vocal delivery in The Nukes is snotty and the riffs are tight and full of hooks and the drumming by JOHN CAUTION of WEEKEND NACHOS holds the whole thing together. We hope this is the first of many recordings by this band and THE NUKES take their place as the next addition to a long list of venerated CHICAGO bands.
