  1. Great customer service. Only time I've really had a problem they fixed it right away. And I didn't e-mail them, instead I took the low road and I pouted on here. They look up on the boards, and they contacted me and took care of it no problem.

There is still a Gaslight Anthem 10" import that I'm waiting on, but I think there was a hold up on production or something. I'm not too worried though, I know it'll show up eventually. Until then I still have the 2x7" to listen to.

  2. I got that 10 for $20 deal. I haven't listened to any of them yet, but I love their packaging. I haven't got many Equal Vision releases before this, so maybe I'm easily amused. But, the Cinematic Sunrise CD came with colored pencils and a "coloring book" insert. And the Prize Fighter Inferno CD had taro cards that had lyrics and whatnot on the back of them. Who knew you could get interesting little extras with CDs?

I was tempted to add the $10 blind box too, but it moved to the accessories section and couldn't be shipped media mail. I didn't feel like paying $15 for shipping for a blind box.

  3. Got a few packages from Suburban Home the last couple of days:

    15th Anniversary poster

    Ninja Gun - Restless Rubes

Two Cow Garage deluxe bundle extras

    T-shirt

    Koozie

    Pint Glass

    64 oz flask

    Button

  4. Thanks for the mp3 offer for Mad Caddies, but I'll probably just pick it up sometime down the road. No matter how bad or good an album is, I feel better buying it.

I remember seeing the Flipsides on tour with Groovie Ghoulies, and that was a great show. I think I was pretty broke at the time, or else I would have picked up their album.

  5. I got the CDs today! For anyone curious, missing were Mad Caddies - Quality Soft Core and Honest Don's Welcome Wagon. Kinda bummed about not getting Mad Caddies. But on the upside they included Dance Hall Crashers - Purr and Fabulous Disaster - Put Out or Get Out. I was wondering why Pink & Black weren't roped into the deal. I'd rather have The Flipsides than Fabulous Disaster, but oh well. Wish I would have had enough for the LPs too. Now I've got some doubles that I can give away for Christmas, and have more than plenty left over for me. 8-)

  6. I guess I thought most people treated them like the holy grail, guess not. I usually stick with one record for my playing copy if I have multiples of them for whatever reason, so I don't play my test pressings.

But then you'll never know if the record is actually what it's supposed to be!

They still have the same little etchings or inscriptions, whatever they're called, on them.

  7. Test pressings are cool. I have 3, 2 of which I got for free unexpectedly in orders that I placed with the labels that released them.

The other one I bought directly from the label that released it, so I didn't mind paying as much as I did for it. I don't think I would ever buy a test press off of some random person on eBay though.

But in the end, it's (usually) the same exact record as the wide release, and chances are you will never play it. So why not spend that money on more records? Right? Unless you're a really big fan of the band/ label/ release, there's not much point in owning one.
