  1. Who's up for a Republican shirt? McPalin: Hard to tell them apart? It's because they're the same as every other rich, out of touch, oil loving, nature hating, public programs cutting, "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" bullshit, white Republican you've ever seen. McPalin '08 more of the same ol' bullshit.

    awesome. would buy this shirt.

    that's an absolute shame.

  3. Just head over to Atomic. They have a pretty decent selection, and it's right by Oakland Gyros. If you leave the city without getting a steak kabob at Oakland Gyros....well, you probably just ruined your life. Also, if you get heckled from a second story balcony by The Rave, that's most likely me. Mention the VC board and I'll give you a beer or six.

  4. If you find a decent job and don't plan on drinking, this should cover it. I was there for five days two weeks ago, and booze was insanely expensive (close to double if I remember correctly). The public transportation was amazing. It took all of one minute to figure out, didn't smell like piss, and wasn't very crowded. Awesome place to visit, and I'm even considering moving there. Good luck and enjoy!

damn, how much is rent for a apt there?

    I don't drink a lot.. maybe about a 12 pack and a case of vodka a year...

I don't remember exact numbers, but from hanging out and talking to some people that lived there, it didn't seem to be too expensive. I say poke around on Craigslist for awhile to see what you can come up with. I like your moving around strategy. Once I graduate next year, I'd like to try doing the same thing.

  5. Once i know for sure, i'll be planning.. i think $5000 should cover me for 6 months correct?

  6. The battery in your Macbook is a Lithium Polymer battery. Li-Po batteries don't suffer from "memory" effects (which is an incorrectly labeling of several problems, but we'll leave it at that for simplicity) . In fact, it's better to store li-po's with about half a charge in them. How old is the laptop? A battery has a limited amount of charge cycles. Your battery could also have suffered damage from over discharge, over charging, or extreme temperatures.

  7. good stuff. i was gonna have my friend build me one, but then after looking into it the cost of wood would have been the same as just buying one, so i just picked one up while i was in NJ on a trip.

if you have a Home Depot near you, buy the wood there. take it to a girl cashier that looks like she doesn't give a fuck/know shit. when she asks you what type it is, just tell her it's the thinnest/shittiest/cheapest wood they have. I've gotten materials there for 1/4 of what it should have cost me.

Also, to the builder of this fine piece, well done!

  8. Hey, I'll be in Toronto July 17th-21st with a couple friends of mine. We could use some suggestions on things to do, places to see, food to eat, and people to meet. We're already planning on going to the zoo, a couple museums, CN Tower, etc. Also, we could use a place to crash. All of us drink, but none of us smoke. We'd definitely like to hit up any parties if possible. Any advice, experiences, invitations would be much appreciated. We're friendly people and would make it worth your while to drink and dance with us.

P.S. My two friends are looking for dates while in town for the hell of it. They have a craigslist ad up, but if there are any ladies here/you know any ladies that would be interested, let us know.
