  1. I am leaving this frozen barren wasteland for 10 days to go back to Toronto for meetings, and I will be leaving those meetings early to attend:

25th - Such Gold, Living With Lions

    26th - Every Time I Die

    27th - La Dispute, Defeater

Now, this is probably not the best consecutive run of shows I've ever seen, but after living in a remote arctic community only accessible by airplane for the last 2 years, this seems like the second coming of Christ, and I will hopefully be dead, deaf or both after it's over.

Any one else have a good streak like this?

(Streaks in your underpants do not count in this survey)

  2. Just fired up L.A. Noire. Only 10 mins in, looks to be the same game engine as GTA IV so i'm not stunned by the graphics but the facial expressions are already very impressive!

Team Bondi’s L.A. Noire is one of the most ambitious Rockstar titles to date, featuring a massive open world and a groundbreaking animation system. It’s also one of the first Rockstar titles in some time that doesn’t use Rockstar’s RAGE engine, rather Team Bondi’s proprietary engine.
  3. Since my girlfriend and I now have someone rooming with us for another month, I have had to give up my office as a bedroom, and that's where my 360 was hooked up, so I have been playing all PS3 games for the last month and a half.

Replayed Uncharted 1 and 2 in anticipation of 3 coming out soon. Those games are still amazing. Currently playing Resistance as a refresher for Resistance 2, which I never played. I heard it was shitty but I want to check it out anyways. I also tried playing inFAMOUS again because I never finished it, and I just got to the second island and already got bored of the game. I don't know if I just have open world fatigue (I started trying to play Red Dead again a couple months ago and quit almost immediately) or if inFAMOUS is just really boring, but it kind of bummed me out because I remember liking it when it came out.

I'm only playing these games as filler though as I'm eagerly anticipating L.A. Noire next week!

  4. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I couldn't handle going to the vet to watch them put my dog to sleep. It was surreal and way too painful to go and see it done. I just said, "See you later" (out of confusion/panic not callousness) as my parents took her to the vet. To this day, I regret not going.

Yep, as horrible as it is to watch your beloved pet die, I'm glad I did it because I think I would have regretted like you if I hadn't.

  5. My childhood dog died suddenly when I was 17, and I had had her since I was 3. I came home from school and she was lying at the bottom of the stairs in a pool of what looked like vomit. I knew right away she was in trouble because I couldn't get her to make eye contact with me at all. Turns out she had a tumor in her stomach or something, and it just burst. The vet said there was probably no way they could have discovered it beforehand.

It was also September 11th, 2001, which made it even crazier.

It was a really tough day, especially standing there watching them put her to sleep. (I am actually getting sad just thinking about right now). I still keep one of her dogtags on my keychain.

I have a new dog now and he is amazing, but I waited 9 years before getting a new one. I just don't think that I was ready to get a new dog right away. I always think it's weird when people get the same dog immediately after their old one dies, and it's especially weird when they name it the same.
