That could potentially leave out some good candidates solely because they are newbies...I'm not referring to myself but you never know who out there would be a good one but not allowed because they recently joined.
I dunno...I will say this...this has become an exciting thread!
You're right, I'm just saying it has to be reasonable and random. I think having to "do" something to earn it wouldn't make sense. We all have lots of vinyl, thats pretty much the only criteria.

1.)Make people earn it. In 100 words or less, explain why you should be collector of the month. Virgil can pick the best submission and we'll (presumably) get an interesting read out of it.
This is the reason I didn't get any scholarships to College. Also, I don't want to hear anybody's sob story about how they were too poor to buy CD's (which oddly enough was my college entrance essay..jk)

I think you should just pick at random someone who is active on the board. Criteria for "active" could be:

Or something like that. I think nominating might create a bad vibe cause what would be the criteria for nominating someone? Everyone on here would like to be COTM.

Spaceboy in Philly has closed down, I was pissed when I found out. Noise Pollution might be the hole in the wall store you're talking about, its on the same street as relapse records. They have a lot of good stuff, but it's definetly a shitty looking store. Repo is great in terms of vinyl, they didn't have as much vinyl when I was in highschool as they do now. They have the more current/modern releases on the main floor and in the basement there's a shit load of stuff to dig through, never know, might find something.

I thought this was out of print but it looks like Vinylcollective and Interpunk both have copies in stock. Is this a repress or did a distributor just find a box full of them in the corner of a warehouse?

Congratulations PS! I would love to have that poster in the background entitled "Birth Balls" explained to me. Is that like having the balls to get pregnant or having the balls to spend 9 months with a pregnant woman (cause that takes big birth balls). Either way, all the best.

Set you fingers to Smite, I think that is some of the most boring music ever!
agreed, except maybe with the smiting (I smited, smit?, elephantttt earlier because of his signature about panic at the disco so I owe him some karma, here's some!)

I'm at work and can't watch youtube but I'm willing to bet this is the scene from Shawn of the Dead??. Still, I love when they're going through the records to decide which to throw and shawn's buddy asks about one and shawn says "thats a first pressing"

Dave Brubeck "Time Out" is a great record. It's incredibly catchy for the crazy time signatures they used on it. I think it was the first jazz record to go platinum.

FUCKING SUCKS. I hate it worse than anything. When I was a kid I moved around every couple of years sometimes not even making it a year in 1 house. Now for college I have to pack up everything twice a year to move in and out. I'm tempted to get an apartment and staying there till I die.
I hear ya man, in my 4.5 years of college I will have lived in 2 dorms, 2 apartments, and 1 off-campus house. It sucks having to move so much. Last year I had the largest room in my house and the least ammount of stuff of all my roommates cause I just said screw it. For this last semester I don't even think I'm hanging posters.
