  1. i have a feeling the seller was in the band, or close to someone that was
  2. you can't judge value of something like a record. it all depends on the person wanting to buy the record from you.
  3. how can you tell if a bend if on pupose or not?
  4. If I remember correctly, it's not sand but product used in the process of making records with "Haze". They use powder instead of the standard vinyl pellets. I didn't know this happened on splatter as well though... oh, maybe you're right. splatter, haze, and marble all looks about the same to me so i get which one is what mixed up. but yeah, the particles are there because the vinyl gets sprayed with a powder to get the effect. i've been told it is harmless and can just be wiped off like you would any other record that has dust on it
  5. if people are really hating on a pressing plant for producing splatter colored records, isn't that hate a little misguided? and the sand on splatter records is a natural, unharmful, unavoidable byproduct of the process to make the splatter coloring
  6. not really. the guy ate $40 on the item. most ebay sellers wouldn't do that. i doubt anyone trying to make a profit on anything would. whether or not homeboy had to pay $40 of his own money to ship a record is irrelevant. he listed the auction for $15 for shipping, he should uphold that, which is what any normal person would do. maybe most people who sell things on ebay aren't normal? if i ever won an auction and the seller asked me to pay them more for shipping than what they listed, i would tell them to eat a dick.
  7. that doesn't make him incredible, that makes him normal.
  8. dhl has always been a nightmare when they've tried to deliver a package to me. i think every time i've had to go down to the hub and pick the package up myself.
  9. there's not that many blue. i can't remember the original pressing information, but at first there was supposed to be x amount of blue, and y amount of blue/white. when they got the records, all of the x and y looked the same, so they sent back 1000 of them and now there's only one color, whether you want to call it blue or blue/white.
  10. this thread made me wander to the bcd site and order a joanna newsom poster. good deal.
  11. the pressing got all screwed up. i can't find a number that a lot of people agree on for the yellow. from what i can tell the blue is out of 1400. some people even still think that there's a blue and a blue/white version.
