  1. You're the man Travis, people were throwing out suggestions for colors yesterday and I think Clear with green, black, red and yellow splatter or some variation of that scheme would be so sweet! Yay Travis! Color splatter would be super sweet.
  2. :-/ I've got $130 tied up in this release. Ordered a red+7s for myself and a yellow+7s for a friend when it was first put up for pre-order in June. Checked the site when RJ was talking about people canceling on FB and nabbed a black 180 gram for half price with the discount in December (I was super stoked as that's what I originally wanted... who didn't?), and then grabbed another copy on yellow+7s for myself because it became available on the site again and... well, it was half off with the discount again and I'd been waiting all this time, might as well take advantage of the discount and get something out of it... I'd probably sell that one and make back what I spent on the first full-price copy, or help someone out in another country who wasn't able to get a copy (or couldn't afford the original price).. I know folks in Australia who'd be keen.. Buuut now I'm just kicking myself for holding out this long. I've been lurking on here... doing my best to skim, as was recommended I've tried to hold out, and contacted them for info stating that I just want to know what the hold up is, but no response. Surprise. At this point, with allllllll of this negative shit really starting to pile up, and them not responding at all, I'm thinking I'll probably try my luck with paypal and then head on over to IC3 and file a claim. The problem with the Paypal protection is that they can't do a whole lot unless there's money in RJ's account or his linked bank account. If he cleared those out, they won't be able to get you your full refund. I've had them issue me a "feel better" $25 before when I got screwed on an eBay sale, and that was all I ever saw. The seller swindled a bunch of people, cleared their accounts and was gone. Boo. I wish you all luck, I wish RJ and crew had planned this better and been WAY more communicative and.... here's to Travis' release! I vote steal the whole packaging idea with the 7"s and the three different LP colors and charge the same prices MTS was. As long as you don't offer 50% off on them it'll probably work out fine Anyway, I know I'm just preaching to the choir and not supplying any new info or worthwhile insight... I just felt that I needed to share and say, "yeah dudes, me too :'(" Wow, long post. Thanks for listening, guys.
  3. Aaaand I caved Found it at a local Newbury Comics this weekend. Man, it's funny how you can find something while pawing through the stacks, and just because it's the only Weezer LP they currently have in stock at that store, and mostly because you're holding it in your hand, the price doesn't seem to really matter and you just have to have it Like Steven said back a few posts, nothing to write home about with the packaging (though the pic sleeve is a nice addition), but the record itself sounds terrific. Stoked. Also, curiously the barcode, 028942462915, had another barcode sticker over it on the shrink, 0720642462911, which is the original UK pressing barcode according to Discogs. Interesting...
  4. Thanks for posting your opinions on this release. And thanks to everyone else who's added in helpful info. I've been seeing copies of this around online and debating picking up a copy. Still debating with that price and the jacket and sleeve being subpar, but feel much more confident about the actual pressing. I think I'll watch a bit to see if it comes down in price at all... and then I'll probably cave in a week or so and just pick it up
  5. I think you're 100% right. RJ did state in his Jan 25th video update (at 1:12) that they'd be sending a free MTS Blink 182 release before summer 2012 to all those who pre-ordered TOYPAJ. March is definitely before the summer, so it fits the timeline. Also, from what his Feb 17th update is saying, this will probably be the only version with the 7"s included in this custom gatefold design (which seems to be the main cause of all the delays in the first place). I'll take a free copy of one of these re-presses, and I'll happily keep waiting for this first, and rather special, edition of TOYPAJ. This album and Enema are what made me fall in love with Blink 182's music, and having them on fancy wax that I can spin and enjoy is awesome. I think MTS does a fantastic job with presentation and their jackets are definitely a higher quality than what I've picked up from Hot Topic (no offense to Travis and the work he's doing. I love those releases, too, but I personally prefer MTS's releases with their thicker stock jackets... though Box Car Racer is certainly an exception. Holy crap the record is gorgeous, I don't even care about the jacket stock.. but I digress). I totally agree that RJ is being a giant douche nozzle with his lack of updates and shady backdoor business dealings with SRC, and I'm thoroughly unimpressed by his lack of explanation for delays, but I can understand that mistakes happen, plans can be pushed back by unforeseen issues, thwarted by increased costs, and that delays can become lengthy due to all these things coming to a head. There are a lot of elements at play and a lot of back and forth would have to exist for something that's out of the ordinary, like this custom jacket, so it would take longer than a regular release. That doesn't mean I think it's okay, and RJ should have gone about all of this differently, and it certainly shouldn't be taking this long. But it is, and we can't do much to change it (beyond boycotting his releases, writing nasty things on Facebook and bitching on forums). Either way, I still want a copy of TOYPAJ on vinyl, and I love my other MTS pressings, mostly because of their quality presentation, so I'll wait this one out. Once it comes out, I'll have everything I want from Blink on vinyl, so I won't need to deal with MTS anymore anyway. It's a shame that RJ's shot himself in the foot like this, but that's what happens when you aren't clear, timely and upfront with paying customers.
  6. Additionally, if anyone's got a spare copy of the 7" or knows where to find it for less than $20 (read: less than the cost of an entire LP), I would love to get a copy. I just want to spin Rebel Girl!
  7. People just like to bitch. They had more then enough time to buy a copy, the blame falls on no one except themselves. It's true, I have no one to blame but myself for being late to the game. I'm not as much of a die hard fan as some, so I wasn't as 'in the know' as I could have been, but when I found out about this record, I had to have it in my collection because it brings back so many fond memories. I do understand that things go out of stock from time to time, especially limited items like this, but what I was personally upset about was the way my order was handled by Hot Topic. From the sounds of it (the way that you set some aside to supply later, Travis), they should have sent me a message saying something along the lines of, "We are currently out of stock, but may be getting more. This portion of your order will be placed on backorder until we know for sure that we won't be getting more," rather than just canceling that portion of the order. I probably would have waited a week or two to see if they got more(long enough for them to come back into stock) and not run off to get screwed on eBay by resellers. The way that it was put across to me made it seem like eBay was the only option I had, so finding out that they had more after sending out such a final sounding message was really frustrating. I'm sorry if my post was too bitchy, but I was annoyed and felt the need to join HipsterAsFolk in voicing frustration with the way Hot Topic dealt with their apparent lack of stock. No one likes to pay double for something they truly needn't pay double for, especially when it's something that's supposed to be cool and fun! Either way, I managed to get a copy, over-priced as it was, and I must thank you for your hand in getting this stuff pressed and out there, Travis. It's great to spin this stuff
  8. Agreed 100%. I had the same thing happen. Ended up paying double on eBay 2 weeks ago. Weak sauce Hot Topic. Not impressed at all.
  9. No more are going up on HT.com. This thing sold insanely fast. There's maybe a couple hundred out in HT stores and after that its gone. Ill try to get a current list of stores that have this. Will post as soon as I get it. Much appreciated! Thanks
  10. Totally bummed. Ordered two of these from HT.com on Friday, one for me and one for a friend who's a huge fan, and got an email Sunday saying that I'd been refunded because they weren't actually in stock. What a HUGE let down. Now the site's updated to show that they're sold out, but when I ordered there was no sign of them being sold out. After receiving that message I jumped on eBay, and as much as I didn't feel like coughing up more so someone else could profit, I found someone selling them for $35. Not a huge price hike, so I went for it... Just got another email saying they actually didn't have the 3 that they were advertising. Another total bummer. I just wanted to spin some colorful live Blink and surprise my friend!
