  7. They posted a review today as well! "Regular readers to my ramblings will remember my constant endless and boring waffle about how good the EIAFUAWN album from last year was. Really, truly ...check it out. It’s marvellous. The reason I bring it up is that Two Boys Alright contain members of that an amazing band and produce a sound that is not that far removed. They are obviously in love with the same early '90’s mystery rock as me, opener ‘Possessed’ is driven along on a fantastic Sonic Youth like riff - its murky as if its been dug up and is full of spoil. These chunky riffs and plaintive vocal delivery were also a feature of Lou Barlow’s early Sentridoh/Sebadoh stuff. The ramshackle lo-fi ‘Into Orbit’ kinda recalls that first Soft Walls tape. The remainder of the tape follows similar murky territory with nods to Bedhead (‘Broadcast From The Halycon Void’) and Atlas Sound (‘Made of Hair’). A wonderfully distorted sloth of a record."
  8. Brits can now order this from Norman Records! https://www.normanrecords.com/records/152669-two-boys-alright-hazy-realms-

  10. http://www.collective-zine.co.uk/reviews/?id=9945 "The Two Boys Alright demo and follow up EP showed signs of promise without being consistently good. This has been put right here. 'Possessed' is a fantastic opener, with the fuzzy guitar and Clay Parton's vocals really hitting home and reminding just how good he is at making music. I should add that Yôni Kifle is also in the band and plays his part. The riff that plays out the song is perfect. This leads into 'Into Orbit', a simple affair with a repetitive nature that occasionally diverts into a beautiful and more melodic passage where Clay sings 'come with me... into orbit', reminiscent of both Duster and Breasts. 'Hazy Realms' feels like an interlude, as does the song after to be honest, but then the fantastic 'Made of Hair' returns. What a song. 'Cosmodrome' ends the EP in short but sweet fashion. The organ pedals are in full effect here. Overall, a great EP."

  14. TELLUSIAN Collision (Pillowscars) LP $13.98 "First full length from these Swedish metalheads, after a 7" we reviewed a few lists back that kicked our asses, and like that 7" Tellusian, featuring members of late great grinders Crowpath, while still plenty grindy, are way more melodic metal, and it totally suits them. The songs heavy and furious and fast, but crazy catchy, epically hooky. A long time ago, we reviewed a grind comp, and on it, a seriously sick grind band did a cover of an old track by pop punks Propaghandi, a it was the best, an impossible fix of incredible poppiness, and frantic heaviness, and we remarked, how come bands don't just SOUND like that, it's only when a band is doing a cover of another band, but that's the first thing we thought of when we heard these guys, and this record especially, it's exactly THAT, a super heavy grind metal band, not at all afraid of melody, who manage to merge those two elements seamlessly, without taking away from either. Check out opener "Rivalry", a sub two minute blast of everything that makes these guys so great, frenzied lightning fast riffing, impossibly chaotic mathed out drumming, loads of metallic chug, but killer harmonized guitars, crazy catchy melodies, a little churning downtuned doom, and heck even an extremely brief bit of (very) surprising almost funk bass, literally a second or two, before it's right back into the chug and churn. And it continues like that, dizzyingly flitting from tangled math metal, to churning metallic grind, to soaring melodic epicry, and usually some killer mix of all of those. But for a metal/grind band, the melodies and arrangements are pretty goddamn stunning, and the sound not as grind or metal as you might expect, instead, almost like a metallized noise rock band, or a super heavy, slightly grindy math rock band, so much so, that with a slight tweak, even with a proper clean singer, it would be a whole different kind of band, but as it is, Tellusian deliver some seriously addictive, and ultra catchy pop flecked, melodic grind metal, that KILLS, and that we've been listening to pretty much nonstop since we got this in. WAY recommended!" http://www.aquariusrecords.org (They will have the CD as well in two weeks!)
  15. The Sludgelord had some very nice things to say! "Rarely has there been a record where, words fail me and I have only given you a taste of what is in store for you on this record, yet the more intricate things get, the more I struggle to summarise how brilliant it is. What is apparent however is the application of the compositions are seamless. Tellusian flex their angular muscles throughout this record. Tellusian is a monstrous musical beast, formed from many different elements, yet it is seams structured, albeit in a weird tangential manner. For me, this record is one of the best I have heard this year. If you want to something fresh, innovative and jaw dropping, that incorporates elements of progressive, death, grindcore and sludge metal, then look no further that this monster. Put simply, comply or die!"
  16. Now available from Deathwish and Bis Aufs Messer! They have both the LP and 7" in stock!
  17. "If you are a fan of rough and intelligent music that demands your attention, this is your album. An over the top, compact and focused attack by one of the most talented metal bands around. You heard it here first!" http://www.evilwarnings.com/album-review-tellusian-collision-2014-pillowscars Now available from Ebullition! Aquarius, Robotic Empire, Deathwish, Stickfigure and a389 should have them up sometime very soon! CD with letterpressed jackets out next week!
  18. Dead Rhetoric gave Collision an 8.5/10! "- Despite its potential to come across as an abomination of random influences and experimentation, Tellusian embraces its influences and combines them into a creation far greater than the sum of it’s parts. In fact, it’s this continual unexpected nature that Collision diverges and returns to that turns it into a rewarding listening experience." German/European kids can now pick up both Tellusian records from Core Tex in Berlin!
  19. You can stream the whole thing and buy it digitally here: http://tellusian.bandcamp.com/ Awesome review here: http://www.nocleansinging.com/2014/03/17/tellusian-collision/ "Tellusian defy categorization and cliches at every turn. 'Collision' is an album stuffed with endless surprises and unpredicatablely structured rewarding music. It’s a calculated ode to creativity that breaks all the rules and in doing so offers up something memorable." British people can pick it up from SuperFi Records: http://superfirecords.limitedrun.com/.../526505-tellusian... German? No problem! BIS AUFS MESSER Recordstore will have some early next week. Americans, these distros should have the LP next week or so: Deathwish, Ebullition, Howling Mine, Robotic Empire and Stickfigure. Thanks! Mike www.pillowscars.com www.facebook.com/pillowscars
