"You'll Live" is the debut EP from Spencer Radcliffe's (Blithe Field) project California Furniture. Recorded in Chicago by Matthew Frank, the EP showcases stylings reminiscent of Dilute, Modest Mouse and Joan of Arc. Side B of the tape features four demos recorded by Spencer. Mastered from the original 1/2" tapes by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service. Pressed on 150 gram 45 rpm vinyl at Gotta Groove Records. This project is the most expensive/expansive release Comedy Minus One has done to-date, an opportunity to present a definitive edition of one of our all-time favorite albums. The following two month preorder will help gauge exactly how many copies of the "Libertine" reissue realistically need to be manufactured. It will also help fund this substantial undertaking. The items offered via preorder will, with the exception of "Libertine" itself, not be available in stores. The record is also being sold here for less than the targeted list price. The band takes aesthetics and foundations presented by bands like Dirty Three, Six Parts Seven, Aloha and The Mercury Program, and makes creates a fresh approach on the currently very stale and predictable "math-rock" / instrumental genre. The band follows up their self-titled EP with an extension of their already stunning exploration of jazz and instrumental rock on the aptly titled "II". The new record is available through Naked Ally Records and is available as a "pay what you want" digital download or a limited edition CD that includes a DVD of a live studio performance for $5. Only 50 CDs were made and more than half are already accounted for.
