  1. Besides, I think I'll hate alot of music in the future. You know how old people complain about our generations music? Yeah, I'll probably be that way later on in life.

I never thought this would happen to me, but I've started to find a lot of current bands boring or a mediocre version of something from years ago. Problem is, now I work backwards and find bands that were influences on current bands I like...then I have to buy their albums...and then I start into THEIR influences. Its a vicious, beautiful cycle of music haha

Yup. I think about stuff like this waaaaay too much. In general music history is one of my favorite things to read up on. The history of recorded music is just so cool to me. Like first, we had cylandrical tubes made of wax, which then evolved into 78 RPMs shelack, then they started making them into vinyl: 7"s at 45 and 12"s at 33. Do you know why 7"s and 12"s kinda developed seperately? Well it was kinda like an old school version of the format wars. Like the recent ones between HD DVDs and Blu-Rays. Check this out if you haven't already, really interesting stuff:

My grandma let me have a bunch of old LPs she doesnt listen to any more, and one of them was a "boxset" of Bing Crosby on shelack. They are so cool
  2. Beggars repress? When? Where? How much? What colors? What speed? Preorders? Deluxe bundles? AHhhhhhaHHHahahaahhhHAHH!

Might as well get started now, right?

    But seriously... repress?

    hahaha

I know nothing, I was just listing a situation which would be possible, and would cause the board to shit itself. Sorry if I got anyones hopes up. Shouldve been more clear with my wording. There was this thread in Jan but apparently its no longer happening (if it ever was) Fingers crossed though

  3. I have taken pictures of all the mewithoutYou vinyl that I have and I think I finally caught them all (except for test presses and the million 'It's all Crazy' variants). The albums are in order of release...

This is awesome. Im not a variant collector, but this would be the one band I would collect for. (I just have the first press of each and 3/5 test presses [bought CFUTF Test Press, but they over sold and had to refund me. I'll get it someday])
  4. Awesome! Did they write anything "special" on your box set?

Some ppl report someone written on their box stuff like (and I quote):

    Which is awesome :D

Did you get anything written on your boxset?

Three of the guys wrote random things on the autographed poster...I got "People are crazy", "Everything will abide" and "News from the skies!" haha

    I got:

Are we making a dent?-> Greg

Its unbelievable -really I must insist -> Rickie

    Nutmeg kills -> Mike

Vandalism has its place -> ajw

So is the "icy blue" indeed the variant shown in the video? I'd suspect so, but just felt like asking regardless.

Yes...its clear-ish with blue "whisps" (not sure how to best describe it) when you hold it up, but when I placed it on the white inner sleeve the blue was much more pronounced

Does Four Fires appear on the 7" b-sides "Other Stories" or only on the February 1878 7"?

    This song is rad indeed!

The whole album is a beauty.

The bonus 7" is Julian the Onion and Four Fires
  5. Gotcha! Thanks.

They never specified, but its NOT the Icy Blue

The conclusion we all came to was to do another run of Box Sets except scale them down a bit. We’re sorry if that’s a disappointment to some of you but we wanted reward those who showed up early. But we also don’t want to punish those who came late either. That’s why the Box Set still includes the 2XLP on Colored Vinyl, the 4th Side Etching, the inner sleeves, the B-sides 7″, the 28-page booklet, and the 11×17 Poster all in that big beautiful 1″ box. Gone are the autographs, the 180 gram, the Icy Blue, the Audiophile Black, and the hand-numbered boxes.

  6. sorry in advance since i haven't read through all 14 pages here, but is the deluxe of this still available on icy blue or did they do another pressing or something? I thought it had sold out (at least once, if not more, i thought) but it seems to still be up?

Edit: Guess i'm also curious if anyone knows what you'll get if you order just a regular copy (color wise, i mean).

"It seems more and more people are coming out of the wood work everyday asking us to make more. We felt like we were stuck in a dilemma yet again. “How can we keep those first 2,000 copies special and how can we give the rest of our fans the package they so obviously desire?” The conclusion we all came to was to do another run of Box Sets except scale them down a bit. They haven't announced the color yet, and no boxsets will ship before the end of June

  7. Saw their tour tonight. It was awesome. They had a few copies of the single LP version of Ten Stories, but they sold out fast. No sign of the Feb 1878 7" and I forgot to ask about it.

    Messes of Men

    Tie Me Up Untie Me!
