  1. If I had a ton of disposable income I'd drop the hundred bucks and get all of their albums excluding "Wasting Light." Not a fan of that one, although I might warm up to it.

i actually liked wasting light quite a bit. i think one by one is their weakest (although the singles are great songs), and the self-titled doesn't do too much for me. i'll probably pass those up and stay happy with my greatest hits 2lp, for the important songs on those records, anyway.

one thing i'm glad to have in my collection: the godzilla the movie soundtrack. granted it's nothing spectacular in terms of sound, but getting to spin A320 is pretty amazing.

  2. the standard edition of the retrospective album is being pressed on vinyl, on two discs. comes out on november 21st. the good part about this collection is that it contains unreleased and alternate versions that are not on vinyl, unlike the gorillaz singles collection.

    18. house (new ben folds five song)

he did a pretty good job with pressing the hornby record, so i'm expecting this to be pretty top notch quality, too.

  4. i like getting things signed. it's like having an artist sign a painting, or a screen print. the music is still a work of art, and while they didn't physically make it themselves, the final product is still what comes of their hard work, and it's something that they could be proud enough to put their signature(s) on. granted you look a little more dorky when it's a smaller band, when they probably aren't asked for autographs that much, but hey, if a friend of mine made a piece of art and gave it to me, i would hope they'd sign it for me.

whether or not you agree with me, that's fine. but that's how i feel. go for it, bring as many records as you like. i've never met any musicians who weren't graceful about signing things. we've all been there, regardless of whether or not you've grown out of it.

this has been out for a week or so now, kinda surprised me that it hasn't been discussed on here. they were $8 each and there was a limit of two per person. chances are it'll show up in the pax am store after this ashes and fire tour is done, but if it's anything like the empty room 7", it'll cost twice as much and only available for less than a day, unless you find someone to grab you one.

  6. the one thing that walt did that pissed me off was get drunk and going on about how the real heisenberg must be a genius, etc etc. i think that's the moment where i went from thinking he's losing his mind to just being genuinely angry at him. but i agree with you guys, the complexity of walt's character and the ways they get in and out of the mess they're in is what makes this show so good.

it's hard to think of a proper ending for this story. i'm not so sure there is one.

  8. i know i mentioned it before in this thread, but i really don't cheer for walt anymore. it's so weird, because i don't hate him. but i don't like him, either. the most extreme case of antihero that i've ever encountered...

    i'm on team jesse.

yeah, jesse is such an interesting character. even though he's matured (for better and worse), it's hard to tell when he will settle into his own skin. it's especially hard to watch walt's desire to protect himself and his family drag jesse down even further. i want to hate walt for that, but he's also looked out for jesse, too, so... that's that.
