  1. Hey,

My name is Michael. I am 24 and a teacher. I will be spending 5 weeks around Nairobi, Kenya starting in May 2013. My goal is to help create at least one new classroom for the local school and if possible obtain some new materials as well. Any donation would be appreciated greatly.

    You can donate here

Here is a little bit of info from the go fund me site.

My goal is to raise $500 to help create a new classroom for the school I will be helping (MVCC). There are currently 140 students and only three teachers. They have two classrooms and have a goal to get a classroom for each specific grade. The money will go directly to the creating the new classroom and any money past $500 will be used to either fund a second classroom or for school supplies, depending on the amount.

Here is some information about MVCC.

Miracle & Victory Children's Center is a non governmental organization established in 2006. MVCC is bringing a response to the neglected through the provision of education, one meal a day and emergency medical care to over 140 students in the slums of Kibera.

From my record store here area  few things that keep me going back

+employees, the friendlier/more helpful the better. I could email the store anytime I wanted to see if they had stuff or just when stuff would come in and they would love to help.

+have local bands come play. Look for a place where you can easily move your stock around and set up a place for small concerts/acoustic shows. Maybe even open mic night or something of the sorts.

+The interior design. Do something creative. dont just paint the while white and put up posters. Maybe think of some theme that makes people walk in and just go WOW.

+no idea if this would work in a record stuff for cleanliness reason. but a local bar always has a popcorn machine for free and i always go there because of the free popcorn!

+create in incentive program. like get a stamp for every 10$ you spend then when you spend 100$ get 5$ off. etc.

thats the stuff off the top of my head and some have already been mentioned. But good luck and post pics when its open!

  5. In the military.

Japanese is a monster to obtain as a language.  Reading, writing, and speaking; you're going to have to put in WORK to accomplish your studies.

The language spoken here in Okinawa is more of an ancient language (it has it's similarities, but it's different in certain aspects), as opposed to "real" Japan.  Think of Okinawa as a rural area, and Japan as the city.

yea I lived in Tokyo last year and wana move back in the fall. I have a litte foundation and it is super difficult, especially trying to learn while working. So I wana take the summer off and take classes. The reason I wana do Okinawa is just because it would be the cheapest... Tokyo is wayyyy to expensive.
