I did the artwork for this. Getting one of these initial pressings with the die cuts will be worth it, although I may be a little biased. All subsequent pressings will just be standard jackets with printed inner sleeves.
-
We do those whenever possible. I hate direct-to-board gatefolds!
-
Any chance Album of the Year is getting a nice tip-on jacket like the deluxe Ugly Organ and Mama, I'm Swollen? I'd pay extra for those to be used exclusively on everything.
Yep, AOTY will be in a tip-on gatefold.

I really love the stripped-down Tim stuff. It reminds me of seeing him play solo acoustic in college. There are a couple of his sets that were passed around here like 20 years ago, dubbed from cassette to cassette. Songs that didn't end up anywhere else.
Maybe those will get converted to MP3 and leaked at some point....
-
Nice catch. I just noticed that the first couple were the same and stopped right there before seeing the differences. But yeah, if there were a few b-sides riddled in there, that wouod be awesome.
The tracks with different names are songs that didn't make the album.
Edit: and the others are demo/acoustic versions of the album tracks.

This might of been answered already but does anyone know if these will be avaliable in stores?
The three albums will be in stores. The two demo LPs are SC online store exclusive.
-
@petgrief These are not remastered or sonically different from the original releases, correct? Also is there any way to get the demos digitally without purchasing the LPs? I have the AOTY 2 disc CD with the demos, but would be interested in digital versions the Novena demos and have no need for the LP.
Not remastered, no.
Differences are 180 gram this time for the three albums, where Black Out and AOTY were standard weight before (Novena is first time on vinyl). Also AOTY being 2LP instead of 1 should improve the sound, the original 1LP was pushing the time limit per side.
Unfortunately, the demos won't be available digitally. However, they are going out via download on release day to people who ordered the vinyl, so if you are willing to wait a bit I am sure the tracks will be out there if you look for them. Sorry!
-
If I ordered the bundle before media mail was an option, who can I contact to change it up?
orders (at) saddle-creek.com
-
Ok, media mail option should now be live for the bundle. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Also just want to say thanks to you guys for your support, and for being fans. We're really excited about these releases as well, needless to say! They've been a long time coming.
-
It's $7 cheaper for me to buy them individually and then get the media mail option. All the LPs are $77 if you buy them separately. Also, what are the pressing numbers on these?
I let folks know about the media mail option for the bundle, they are looking into it.
As far as pressing numbers, these are *not* limited edition (including the demos). But we pressed 2k each of of the albums, and 1k each of the demos.

guess I jumped the gun
No problem, ha. Just want to make sure there aren't any hiccups while we get all the components online. It'll be fine.
-
We're getting everything put up now. Just hang on for a sec while we make sure everything is up and working. Nothing is going to sell out right away.
-
Should be up soon. Either late tonight or early tomorrow (I think). I just finished putting together the mockups for the store images last night, and the product descriptions were being finalized today.
-
Ok, latest (tentatively) is announcement on March 4th.
-
Your gender needed far less clarification than the upcoming pre order date. SOOOOOOOO... Whaddaya say?
Honestly don't know. We're waiting to hear what the band wants to do. March is all I know at this point, sorry!
-
I'm a guy. I just have Charlotte Perriand for my avatar.
-
When is the announcement?
Hasn't been decided yet. "Early March" is the only thing I've heard.
-
Yeah, this is happening! I've been very excited about it, but couldn't say anything while it was in the works. All three hit the ADA new release catalog today.
AOTY is 2LP because it was crammed onto 1LP before, and the sound quality suffered. So it's the regular album, but split onto 2LPs. As far as demos and acoustic versions... stay tuned for the official announcement.
Novena wasn't ever on vinyl that I know of, but that was a Better Looking release, so there could have been something like what was described above and I just never heard about it. "First time on vinyl" is everything I've heard about Novena since we started discussing these reissues.
These are all 180gm vinyl.

Yeah it's common with haze variants. Every one I've got is like that. They all play fine after a good brush or two.
Weird, I'd never heard of this. Mine had it too. Sounded like it was coated in kitty litter when I pulled it out of the sleeve. Now it's got little marks in several places. Wonder what causes it? I only have one or two other haze records and haven't noticed it before.

Just got my copies in from Arena Rock. Had some trouble getting the correct URL to load for the download card for Power of Failing.
The address is bit.ly/1mIyRiz. Note that the letter after "m" is a capitol "i", not a lower case "L". It was taking me to a photo of a cliff, which was nice but not what I wanted.
-
Aw, there was definitely some good tracks on How the Gods Kill though.
Hm, I should go back and listen again. It's been ages.
-
Samesies! You're pretty rad. Thanks for coming and talking to us about stuff, btw.
Ha, thanks! It's fun.

As much as I love Cursive up through The Ugly Organ, and even dig Tim's solo stuff and The Good Life...I can't get into anything past Organ. :/
That's okay. I love Danzig S/T and Lucifuge, but they lost me after that. It happens.
