I'd be surprised if this isn't available in the US. Wait for the full list before committing to anything, and I doubt we'll see many available online orders for this until the full list comes out.

Ah, patience. I've heard of it. Not too familiar with it, though.

NY resident here. Does anyone know if it will be possible to order this UK-exclusive 1975 RSD live LP? I'm a big fan of that album and would love to have this in my collection. Happy to work out payment and shipping with someone over the pond if anyone's willing :)

I've been a NSR subscriber since 2014. Basically the 2016 subscription couldn't work out. We only got Shai Hulud on vinyl. Eventually we're getting a free shirt, we have 25% off until the end of the year, digital on release day for every release (which has included Alistair Hennessy, Julia Louise and In Between), and I get the most limited variant of every record for 2016 (that would be only Spill's Top Ten) through the end of 2017 (We're getting WSTR and all the others to come). There will be new records from Julia Louise, my favorite band Daisyhead, Drug Church, Koji, Aficionado, Aviator, Looming, State Faults and whoever else. It's still going to be worth what I paid on Black Friday 2015 so I can't complain!

Oooh well the recording process is kinda cool imo, but I understand it makes the touring part of being a band difficult. But that kind of makes me appreciate the songs more knowing they all did their parts separately.

I'm in no way any authority on the matter, but I know they (he? I think he is just a one man operation now) moved to a smaller place and no longer do their own mailorder. There was a huge thing a little while back were people were waiting for a long time for their records to ship bc of the move and the merchnow switchover. There were things missing from the store and inventory issues, etc. Also I don't think the last few vinyl subscriptions were ever completed and folks were having a hard time getting refunds. Plus, a lot of the bands on their roster either left or signed with new labels. I think if you look in the 2015 or 2016 no sleep sub threads you'll find more detailed info on what was going down as it was happening.

didn't realize they outsourced to MN, lol. That place is in my backyard; I have several buddies who have worked there forever and I used to work at Equal Vision back in '06/'07, which shares the space and is owned by the same dude that runs the label... that place is so dysfunctional, haha.

Aaaaanyway, all of that sucks. No Sleep was the shit for a long time, I guess it makes sense then that I've not heard much goodness come from them for awhile now.

I was afraid of that =\ I was excited when they announced they were signed but it seemed like that happened at the exact moment No Sleep started to.... become whatever it is right now.

I do know they were supposed to support MCS on their recent farewell tour but one of the members couldn't do it. They all live in different states and work full time jobs; they record albums by sending protools sessions to each other and recording in home studios. I wish so bad that they'd play shows but I don't know when/if it'll happen. Obviously there's not a whole lot of appeal for any label in a band like that, however good the jams are.

Curious what you mean about "whatever [no sleep] is right now." I guess I haven't been paying attention, though if I think about it I don't really know/listen to any bands on the label currently where at one point I listened to a ton. Did they do a roster cut or something?

anyway, does anyone know why no sleep was putting out digital-only releases for this band?

I think the No Sleep deal soured shortly after they signed, or at least the label has ended up not providing much benefit to them. They don't really tour; perhaps that's part of the reason No Sleep hasn't done much with/for them. My understanding is that they do everything on their own for the moment, hence the kickstarter...not sure NS is even still in the picture

  7. Bitched at KRM customer support about getting Balance and Composure's new one a week after street date and actually got this 1 day after street on Saturday. Not sure if it's related or coincidence, but I was pleased.

Anyone notice what is likely a lyrical typo? The second stanza of "Pol Roger" turns into the second half of "You With Me' lyrics at the midway point, starting with "Wrong, I'm certain...

I took pictures of both and they look identical, so given the nuances of the handwritten lyrics, I'd assume this was a first press fuckup. Cool? Eh. I'd rather have the full lyrics...

I really am so glad to have these...but...minorly disappointed in the covers and lack of color. That's all I'll say but I'm so excited to have these albums, cleaning and spinning right away!

It IS pretty sparse, color-wise...however, I don't think they did anything to hide that fact when they posted the mocks. The mockups were pretty spot on, actually.

Those appear to the be the promotional 12" flats they sent out to people who ordered Vital packages awhile back.  The only 12" version of the Vital album cover...which may not be cool to you but since the Vital vinyl was 10", the album cover didn't match the rest of the previous album artwork in terms of size--making the artwork you're holding somewhat desirable to someone who really liked that album cover :)

These are the same promos I got.

As someone who already has an OP of every LP (including of New Surrender; don't ask what I paid for it on eBay), I was most looking forward to what is contained in the booklet they put together for this: a detailed account of the thoughts and feelings that went into each record. Deon did a really good job putting this all together and I'm very happy to have this little window into their world to peer through now. There's a fantastic quote on the first page from english modernist and writer Virgina Woolf about how significant and "complete" emotions about something can only be truly formed well after the event has passed, and the band uses this, along with an epilogue in the form of the song "Time & Confusion"'s lyrics in their entirety to bookend a really, really nice account of the band's career from start to finish.

TL;DR: i'm happy as a pig in shit rn

  10. Having purchased several copies of this LP only to find out the pressing was apparently just done this way, I gave up trying to find a copy where the intro to Big Casino isn't slightly clipped (it seems to start about a half second into the song, so that fast single-guitar octave intro seems out of time with the rest of the band coming in).

I'm curious if anyone has ever found a copy that doesn't have this issue? And also, I'm noticing their website has an "exclusive blue reissue" of Chase This Light--what are the chances they maybe cut it from a revised master?

I realize this probably sounds OCD/neurotic, but it drives me nuts. Throws the whole intro timing off.

Can't wait to get mine. Didn't even realize the box was cloth covered til I saw the updated infographic online. Are the actual dimensions of the box large enough to include the original presses with the new ones inside?

Where is this updated infographic? I didn't see it on their 'gram or the preorder site anywhere stating that it's cloth. Or are we just sort of surmising that from the photo?

  12. I can confirm the Urban cassettes are pink.

Got mine. Thanks for the heads up/confirmation on the pink. The shade they chose for the cassette goes great with the artwork so this is a real nice collector's piece I think.

I saw that. Found it weird there's no b-side listed at all. You'd think at least the COH demo that is on the Love Me single 7"?

Does anyone know if there is in fact anything at all on the b-side of this?

  13.

Haha, rats. I'm stateside and can't get it shipped here. I'm still holding out for someone to confirm Urban Outfitters' copies are Pink but it says it's exclusive to their store... so I just have this feeling they're not

  14. I got my boxset through the US and my outer shell didnt have any issues with residue after removing the protective film.

i am not a huge fan of the open corners on the plastic shell though.

Same. They're likely why one of mine was cracked. That's thick ass plastic though; they may not have had much choice--if they had made the corner edges 90 degree angles, the thing would have been kinda dangerous

  15. I just got my boxset today. The plastic that covered the pink box left a really awful sticky residue that I'm struggling to get off. Kind of a pain. Otherwise the boxset is great - I was surprised at how heavy it is.

Same here re: the plastic covering the pink case. I almost thought maybe I should have left it on after all once I realized the small mess it was leaving, so I'm glad to hear someone else removed it too.
