i'm in. i also need the last full length from Ghost Mice. i tried to order from No Idea but they were out, some one point me in the right direction.
Get it from PIX they should have it in stock! http://www.plan-it-x.com/catalog.html
I also highly recommend Chris' book "Free Pizza For Life" about the birth of the label. Its awesome!

Yeah he seems to be really loving Kickstarter and using it as a pre-order for everything. He is also selling mp3's and is just more invigorated in doing the label. it seemed for a little while like he was burnt out on doing it but now that they're selling LP's he's seems to be doing better financially.

PIX has had a really rough couple years and is coming back strongly. He knows no one would ever give him that much money. Although you're right, he probably would just press another 1000 copies of the record for that one person haha

David Dondero has two new projects he's working on and there is a Kickstarter for both combined. You can check it out here:

I really dig the band. I have the new album but haven't gotten the chance to listen yet. Will make a point to do that tomorrow, I hope. I have high hopes.
Its great! Really great. I'll never stop thinking that the old demos from 2007 and 2008 are the best, but its really awesome. It rivals The Circus.

Plan-It-X Records just put up their pre-order for the Ghost Mice/ Ramshackle Glory split LP and CD as a Kickstarter. I didn't see another thread about it when searching for it so sorry if its already been made!
Edit: Link is in the comment below this one!

I wish I could find George Carlin stuff in one dollar bins! haha I'm never that lucky

Glad to see other people like this album as much as I do...
They're my friends I grew up going to see them play music all my life. Ben is also my neighbor and I can hear them practice at his house from mine. Haha I think I'm glad to see people like this band as much as I do.

My local movie rental place is still up and running. I'm so grateful. Blockbuster really fucked things up for everybody.

In 10 years they have released 2 albums of original.
I'm not sure why he redid KN. I like the concept of 99 Songs but i feel like they could churn out a lot more by now.
TTHT will be out soon. That's one every three and a half years. KN was redone to knock an album off the contract and because he didn't like the low-fi sound it had on the Catch-22 version.

Seeing as he went to SCAD I wouldn't be surprised if he is hypocritical of his work to the point that it is not viable for him to make any kind of living off what he does.
That pretty much describes it.
I mean technically Streetlight has been around 10-11 years. So they release an album of original material every three years. That isn't even that bad. Plus with Keasbey and 99 SOR, that's a release of some sort about every two years.

I do love Streetlight Lullabies too, but every time I listen to it I find all the songs blending together. I hope I don't get the same feeling from the Toh Kay version of the new album. I'll dig it regardless. And Tomas' cover of Hooray For Me on the 7" is fantastic too, I probably like it more than the original.
I love that cover.
Well, I think part of what he meant there is that they really don't consider themselves a ska band. It's definitely not that he isn't proud of the music SM makes. In other interviews he says signing the band to Victory is the biggest regret of his life. He's trying to make a distinction between the band and something like RBF or Less Than Jake's music. The solo music is in part a business venture to make money for himself and Pentimento Music Co./ The Risc Store. Its also a good outlet for Tomas to do some different types of things. All the SM songs start out the way Lullabies sounds and then get transposed over. That's just his creative process. It takes the band a long time to release records because he is naturally slow as an artist. He has really varied interests too so that comes through in Streetlight's sound and image. They also can only record and so forth when they have enough material and when they have enough money from touring. They only make capital from touring which is why they are constantly on the road. If they recorded and album every year their sound and creativity would suffer immensely.Tomas would say it would feel forced and probably break the band up. Unfortunately that's just sort of the way he operates.

I like Streetlight Lullabies more. I really love how different the arrangements and approach to each song are. I love the split with Dan P. too though. I can see them doing a vinyl release of the TK/ DP split when they're off Victory and they have more money coming into the label to do more stuff with the releases. I wish Dan Potthast would play more often. He should be on the damn Revival Tour!

Has anyone mentioned the old Foxy Shazam! records? That would be badass
-
Originally they weren't sure how long the vinyl would take to get done, I assume (/hope) that they have had enough time to get that figured out by now. But then again, with this band and label it really is a toss up.

You don't have to wait much longer!

So based on the lyrics and the title of the album, this is going to be a lot of songs about victory bashing? Seems like every album kinda has a loose theme (EGN has a lot of songs along the lines of robbery and stuff, SITB is a lot about life/afterlife). That's what I'm gathering so far.
Its looking that way

He posted this last September? So probably not.
I mean I replied a little late, but people still keep bumping this. Just curious if anyone after october ever got an answer.
-
Anyone gotten a response? =/

It's not that bad to drive in! At least I don't think so. If you're new it can definitely be frustrating to navigate through though.
