  1. Spain for me as well. Spain is entering the competition with a largely verteran team but the coach is using that to his advantage by playing strictly through the middle and devoid of wingers. Even without Costa, Spain will find a way. Speaking about the US, I would like to see Johansson given a chance to play up top instead of Altidore. However experienced, he's just not clinical enough in front of goal and in games where the US will have a minimum of chances they need to be converted.

  2. First Aid Kit- The Lion's Roar was a pretty rewarding impulse buy. Washed Out- Within and Without... not so much. I enjoyed the embossed cover and liked the suggestive artwork but as far as the music went, well... I resold it a month later. A big one for me was Anberlin's Cities (on cd)- more specifically because of the ender 'Fin'. I liked the title, artwork and said why not. I've heard that most of it is improvised, that track is amazing, worth the price of the album alone.

  3. My first set of doubles will be the new Jack White record, one vault edition for my girlfriend and a copy for us to play worry free. I don't do that variant collecting thing. I do however have a CBS master sound version of Springsteen's "Darkness on the Edge of town", and a regular copy so I guess it depends on how much you love a particular record.

  4. Af few things about the Liverpool game: 1) Coutinho is a little terror who with a little time can be a real handful. We've seen that he can provide killer through balls, but what impressed me today was his willingness to get dug in and chippy on defense. He is intelligent, deceptive and there arent enough superlatives for what he's brought to the team since his signing. 2) missed chances. If Perch puts away the open header, things get interesting as Liverpool get nervous when the pressure piles on. Even after the interval when Ben Arfa comes in the tide changes and Liverpool, to there credit, stand strong if not a little lucky. But then comes Coutinho again and after the third goal its all over. Newcastle won't get relegated but they need to sort out the team; they were abysmal. Cabaye was completely marked out by Lucas and Cisse held by the ever dependable Carragher. I do think that Coloccini healthy would have made a world of difference but Sturridge would have gotten him sent off or beat him for pace. Either way, well done Liverpool. Onwards to the Everton derby.
