  1. I don't know if I already said this, but I'm losing my job at the end of the month. I knew I wasn't gonna be able to keep it past summer, and I found out last week, but I wasn't expecting to be let go so soon. It really sucks because now I can't do RSD this year, so that I still have enough money to pay bills next month (it was a part-time job at minimum wage so I wasn't earning much to begin with). I guess the nice thing is that, with the exception of Oneohtrix Point Never's EP, the only other RSD releases I wanted are probably gonna be pretty easy to find after this weekend, so there's that, haha.

Expect a sale thread as soon as I can get my hands on more mailers and packing material.  ;)

  2. I ordered a Radiator Hospital 7" from Party Nogg exactly a year ago (still have the confirmation email) right before RH went on a tour and never actually got it. I was a bit disappointed, but it was only $6 total, so I just let it go. No sense in getting up in arms over $6.

Also, as far as keeping track of stuff I order online goes, I save the confirmation email(s) and make a new entry in the "Incoming" section of my DF list, then move it to its proper section once I get it.

  3. Autre Ne Veut - S/T (found it for $6 in Atlanta)

Aden - Tanz EP (ordered from Juno Records)

If any of y'all are into house and/or techno at all, I highly recommend that Aden EP. I've had it on repeat since January.

Edit: I also got my cyan/clear split copy of Dance Gavin Dance - Instant Gratification in the mail yesterday, I just didn't check the mail until today.

  4. It sounds like you don't like food, period. I'm just messing with you, but seriously, the second part is true. As with mostly everything, it's more on how it's cooked, along with other ingredients. I bet that a lot of the people who dislike mayonnaise eat sushi. I don't think that it's really known that a lot of different types of sushi has that in it.

Very true. Sushi is actually one of my favorite foods, if not my favorite, but more often than not I get nigiri sushi, not so much the rolls that have a bunch of ingredients in them (especially if there's mayo in it or on it, haha). Personally, I think less is more when it comes to sushi. My all-time favorite roll is eel and cucumber, because that's all there is to it. That, and eel is fucking delicious.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add avocado to my disgusting foods list. Sorry, avocado lovers, it's definitely a texture thing.

  5. I haven't had the time or patience to put anything on canvas since high school, which is unfortunate because I have an idea for a painting but I haven't been able to start it for months, mostly because I can't decide how big of a canvas to buy for the first attempt. All I know is that it's gonna be big, it's gonna take a long time to finish, and I'm probably gonna have to do it more than once to get it the way I want it.

Anyway, here's a self portrait I did by tracing a photo of myself in Photoshop. Not exactly original or creative or whatever, but I like it.

  6. Mayonnaise (the worst of the worst), broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, okra, coconut, any kind of cooked greens (turnip/mustard/collard/etc.), olives, most soft or crumbly cheeses (specifically feta and ricotta), anchovies, seaweed salad, most types of squash, and ranch and blue cheese dressings. I'm cool with most other things, provided their texture doesn't weird me out.

Also, I have a "try everything at least twice" policy concerning food. That way, I can decide for sure whether or not I like something, even if one of the main ingredients is something I already know I don't like, because it might taste or feel different based on how it was cooked.

  7. Oh man, this sounds hella fun. Count me as "I'll be there provided I can scrape up enough spare cash for the ticket."

In terms of things to do...visiting Little 5 Points is a must. Great record stores, decent vintage shops, and The Vortex. Other than that, there are plenty of good restaurants, a few decent malls in the metro area (Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza, and Perimeter Mall; all accessible by MARTA), some good art museums (also accessible by MARTA), and some nice parks and walking trails. The Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta SkyView (big-ass ferris wheel), and the World of Coke are all in or near Centennial Olympic Park in the downtown area. The bar/observation deck on the top floor of the Westin is pretty cool, too: a panoramic view of the metro area and beyond at 800 feet. Also, Six Flags is like fifteen minutes west of downtown, if that's something you're into.

Whatever you end up doing, be ready for a lot of driving in awful traffic or a lot of walking, even after you get off of the train.

  8. Dunno if this is anyone's cup of tea, but Apothecary Compositions, a relatively new electronic label that does like 80% of their releases on cassette, is releasing a compilation very soon. From what I've heard on the previews, it's gonna be pretty incredible. The rest of their catalog is worth checking out too.
