This thread reminds me of the time last summer when some girl on Tumblr offered me her extra copy of The Arctic Monkeys' Favourite Worst Nightmare for free, and when it came it had just been wrapped up in thick wrapping paper. No fragile warning, no cardboard or bubble wrap, nothing. Just wrapping paper. It had been rained on and had sat out in the sun for a while. The sleeve was destroyed beyond recognition, and the record was warped like hell.

 

Good thing it was free. Otherwise, I would have been furious.

 

The extra cardboard on the corners of the LP mailer is a really good idea. I'll have to start doing that in the future.

Except for those 80 or so copies, every copy should be pressed on teal vinyl. Mine is, and I picked it up from my local record store for $15. If you're gonna buy it (which you totally should), don't buy it at UO.

I'm expecting the worst, and have started looking at other turntables in the event that I get a similar email.

 

Still, even if it doesn't work, it was worth a shot. Only time will tell.

Went ahead and tried this too, but I got different CDs, so my order ended up being about $307. Still not too shabby, especially if it works.

The only thing I'm unsure of is that every single color is currently backordered, so I'm not sure how long it will take to ship (I ordered black).

Is the P!ATD repress /750 or /1150? Or is it something completely different and I'm behind the times?

Haha, I guess that's sort of true. Though it would have been nice to see any color at all.

I know it's pretty rare and sort of sought-after, but seriously.

Finally opened up my random color variant this evening, and...

 

 

Not gonna lie, I was sort of flustered.

 

So, I'm gonna go to my local HT tomorrow and see if they have any more copies laying around.

Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket.

 

A DGD boxset would make my life.

 

I got Fall Out Boy - TTTYG, but only because I bought it for myself. No other records besides that.

 

I did get an Amazon gift card and a decent amount of cash, though, so I'll probably buy a few in the next few days.

 

Apparently, my family doesn't know how to shop for vinyl.

 

I really do wish it would snow here sometimes.

Picked this up at list price at a local shop today & was super stoked to pick up my first piece of sacred bones color vinyl

 

Nice find.

My dad actually gave me a list of stuff he wanted this year. Needless to say, I was impressed.

 

Ended up getting him a new outfit for him to wear to work, and some old guy cologne that he likes.

$45 for all of it, because I'm a Maxxinista. Er, Maxxinisto. Doesn't matter, the stuff was cheap.

Hot damn, I'm still in! Still wishing I had figured out some trash talk, though...

If anyone is in the Atlanta area, the Hot Topic in Kennesaw has ten copies of this total. I forgot to check if they had the coke bottle variant, but the few that were behind the one I grabbed were mixed.

 

(They also have six copies of P!ATD.)

Picked up a copy of Fall Out Boy - Take This To Your Grave on the random splatter variant at my local HT last night.

 

They had eleven copies of TTTYG, and six copies of the P!ATD re-issue. Crazy, since I hardly ever see people buy vinyl there.

 

I would have bought P!ATD too, but I already have a copy in the mail.

My order shipped some time in the last two or three days, so it's probably going to be sitting on the front porch of my house at school. Kind of sucks, because I'm back home for Winter Break, but it's not the end of the world. I might ask my sister (who's still at school) to pick it up for me, just to get it out of the elements.

 

I feel like HT has handled this delay relatively well, despite a lot of us freaking out about it.
