  8. So.. I just got my first test press back yesterday from URP for a split my friend is releasing. It was a special moment for sure... however, I'm a little irked that I might have to reject the test press, which can be a sticky issue for anyone involved in the project who may be burning up in their seats waiting to release it. I had sent the masters in both DATA and high-quality MP3 formats... and what I got back was somewhat bothersome. The bottom end was perfect. The bass sounded great and the lows were nice and smooth. The problem is that the highs in the pressing were sounding pretty distorted... not to the extent that it was a shitty press, but to the extent that the MP3s on a good sound system sounded better. To reject, or not to reject. Can URP fix this, or will they lay the blame on the skills of the people who mixed and mastered it? What experiences have you encountered?
