Can OP rename this thread to "Fish-Barrel Shooting Gallery"?
Nothing more boring than a bunch of dudes with boilerplate alt-rock taste shitting on Top 40.
still, thanks for the input all the same, chum

I know that feeling all to well.
what's worse is that I used to love this job. It was a job I looked forward to every morning - something I'd never had before. oh well
-
That's my every week. Having a shitty job does that.
tell me about it. finding myself working for the weekend every single week. not a good way to be.
-
yknow when you have a relatively relaxing weekend, and have really felt like you've unwound from a busy shitty week? and yknow when you're in work for a few hours monday morning and all of that just seems to get reversed straight away? that

I like when he goes with the more old school funk sound.
yeah I think that's the reason this song in particular has gotten so popular. but I think, well, just listen to old funk? The lyrics in that song really grate me as well - I fucking hate songs that are just about going to a club or about how much money the """""artist"""""" has. at least. Funkadelic sang songs about higher powers and black equality (as well as songs about poop and sex...) and Bruno Mars sings about living it up in the city. for fucks sake.
-
Speaking of Bruno Mars, why the fuck is Uptown Funk so popular? I get that it's a catchy song and stuff but its really just total dogshit. If you didn't think that song could get any worse though, a friend of a friend is in a band that covers that song, and they've changed it to Uptown Rock ("Don't believe me? Just rock.") Ugh.

Sounds it... I barely ever get to the movies anymore.
yeah I don't go very often any more. most of the cinemas in my town appear to be run by imbeciles who don't know how a cinema works. trying to get past that for a film I really want to see though!
-
Am gonna go see The Witch tonight (think it was released in UK today). Also went to see High Rise last night so shaping up to be a good weekend for films
-
bumping this cos I'm bored in work at the moment.
not sure if anyone here likes The 1975, but if you do, W H Y?? their songs have about the worst vocals I have ever heard, sounds like he's belching and hiccuping. also their music just sucks. i'm all for bands taking different directions and not really having a genre, but these guys sound like they're trying to cover every base that they can and it just ends up being a huge fucking horrible mess
-
I'm fucking glad it's fucking Friday
-
Cool. I've been looking forward to the film for ages. Can't wait!
-
I haven't seen The Witch yet, so I'm trying to keep away from any discussion on it (hoping to see it Friday).
Did anyone get a copy of the soundtrack? I saw the pre-order on Wednesday and got my copy. Comes with digital download but waiting until I've watched the film first.

Books are for bedtime, not bathroom time
why not both? make your life a rich one

Debating if I should pick up some cheap Poison the Well and Norma Jean records. What do you guys think?
seek not the advice of others, and look within yourself to find the answer, and you shall see that the answer is: fuck no, of course not

My job is hugely stressful and the only way I cope with it day to day is to just take breaks as often as possible, without taking the piss. I use these breaks to smoke but I don't recommend that! When you do take a break though, try to do something like go for a walk or read a bit of a book or something, I find that just browsing facebook for ten minutes makes the break disappear and you haven't really "switched off".

Original UK press is phenomenal. I have that and the Back to Black. It's not even a contest.
I've never heard the original press. The first time I ever heard TDS was on a tape made for me by a friend which I played to death. Eventually graduated to CD, now have the BOB reissue, so definitely going in the right direction! The BOB doesn't sound bad by any stretch but I'm glad I got it for free - I just tend to stay away from the MOV and BOB reissues as I have heard some shitty presses. In the UK the MOV/BOB stuff is usually upwards of £20/25 and I just think that's a lot for what it is. If they were more like £10 or something then I'm sure I'd take a chance on a few more.
I read somewhere recently that there is possibly a press of the NIN/Bowie tour from 1995 coming up... anyone know about this? It might have just been CD but can't quite remember.

I'm a disgusting human being who actually ordered a tablet just to make browsing the Internet on the toilet more convenient.
Just in case you were wondering.
keep books in the bathroom, pal

I've no issue with Crosley. I would never have one in my own home, but if they exist for people to ruin shitty records on, faster than usual, well... just go ahead.
-
Sorry, but those two will never stand next to each other.
Haha, how do you mean? I was referring to the fact that it was a not-great reissue. TDS still stands as one of my favourite albums.
-
Music on Vinyl reissue?
You must mean the Back to Black.
Ah yep, you're right, it was Back to Black. Are MOV and BOB part of the same company though? Or did I just make that up?
-
Maybe a stupid question but: has "And All That Could Have Been" been ever released on vinyl? I love this concert.
I would love to see this reissued if only for the bonus disc. That has some of my favourite NIN material on.
Don't think I would bother with With Teeth even if reissued. But I would be very tempted by The Fragile. Got a free copy of TDS (The Music on Vinyl issue) a couple of years ago. Not bad for free, but wouldn't spend the time or resources getting an original.
-
Just bought the lyric sheet edition. Looking forward to this a lot! Still haven't got round to Sugaring Season yet because I still love Comfort of Strangers so much. Hope she'll tour with this one again.

I'm not from the US, so apologies if I'm mistaken, but how is there not more being made of this accusation that appears in Ivana's book? I saw an article about it once on Twitter and I've not seen it again at all. How is that possible?

He's even ruined Home Alone 2.
ehhh Trump has lied plenty. Key example would be saying he witnessed thousands of people in NJ cheering as the WTC buildings came down. He was apparently the only person ever to see this. He just says shit to bubble up emotions.
That is fucking insane. He is a lunatic. Is he quoted anywhere as saying this? This is real top drawer dictator-in-the-making stuff.

re: boot. makes sense. I had a botoleg CD a while ago.
yeah, my copy is not bad by any means but it's definitely not the best sounding record I own.
