BEACH HOUSE will release Depression Cherry, the band's fifth album, on 28th August on Bella Union. The album will be released in North America on Sub Pop Records and Mistletone in Australia and New Zealand. Depression Cherry was produced and recorded by the band and Chris Coady at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana. LP and CD versions of the album will come packaged in a sumptuous red velvet sleeve. Marissa Nadler's new album 'For My Crimes' is up for pre-orders now. A limited edition colored vinyl version is limited to 400 it says. This record is the most intimate album of my career, featuring warm, up-front vocals that serve to support 11 deeply wrought songs. I played most of the instruments on this album, while Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten and Kristin Kontrol brought the songs to new melodic heights with their own unique takes on harmony. Cellist Janel Leppin composed transportive string-arrangements, while Mary Lattimore - Harpist added her spectral experimental harp to the mix. Eva Gardner played bass while Dana Colley, the sax player from the band Morphine, has the honor of being the only male musician on the album. This is the first album that features one of my paintings on the cover, and I hope that you, upon hearing the first song, get enveloped in the wide and expansive landscape of it.

"We are very excited, it's an album being released the way we want," the band wrote on Twitter. "It's not a companion to Depression Cherry or a surprise or b-sides." So glad Emmy the Great's new EP is going to be on vinyl via Bella Union. Apparently the upcoming album will, too. Hope First Love and Virtue get pressed someday. Anyways, it's available for pre-order on Amazon (US) and Rough Trade (UK). If you're lucky enough to be in London, there's a vinyl/in-store wristband bundle available. Here's where it gets tricky. The Rough Trade listing says "limited edition green vinyl to 750 copies worldwide." but there is no such text on the Amazon listing. So I'm wondering if it's only available on green vinyl through Rough Trade and the one on Amazon (and presumably other retailers eventually) is a standard black edition. Or is there just the green vinyl edition? Really want it on green vinyl, but ordering from Rough Trade will cost 2-3x as much and take forever to get.
