Hi VC, I'm Eric and as the title says I'm looking for a new music site / blog / whatever to write for. I was staff writer for MindEqualsBlown for quite some time, wrote for two other blogs and did some reviews on SputnikMusic as well. I don't really have musical preferences, but my main genres are probably Hardcore, Punk, Post Rock and everything alternative / non-mainstream / experimental. Just look at my deadformat profile to get a rough idea, or look at my reviews and year-end-lists for MEB. So, if you have a cool blog / site and need a new writer or if you know somebody who knows somebody who's looking for one, let me know. Like the title says, I know everyone has a blog, but it would be nice to get some feedback on mine. It's called Octaves In Grooves and you can check it out by clicking here. To me it seems like a lot of reviews are filled with bullshit you don't want to read. I'm tryin to make clear and concise entries about the quality of vinyl releases and album reviews. I don't think most people want crazy analogies for their music or even semi-technical terms when reading reviews. So my goal is simplicity always. Right now, I'm just covering what I like, when I can. Also, it would be awesome if you followed me on Twitter and Instagram. Are there any vinyl review sties out there that allow users to post their reviews/ratings? I'm thinking something like Amazon's reviews, except specific for vinyl. It's frustrating that you can't separate the vinyl version reviews on Amazon, but even if you could, there probably aren't that many. I know you can look through these boards or other message boards to get people's opinions, but I'd love to be able to look at a newer release and see how people are rating it before I buy it. I know there are places that post a single review of an album, but I always like to hear more than one opinion. If a site like this doesn't exist already, then maybe I will make one. Thanks!
