castaway
So I recently bought an Apogee Duet 2 for recording purposes, but I'm looking into using it with my receiver for iTunes listening. My question is: What cables do I need to make this happen? It has 2 balanced line outputs (L & R). A video on YouTube by Apogee claims you need 1/4" TRS to RCA cables for the best listening experience. And I don't mean a stereo TRS to a dual RCA cable, I mean two separate cables for each channel, balanced to unbalanced. Do those cables even make sense? Isn't is just going from balanced to unbalanced anyway? Wouldn't it just make sense to buy TS to RCA cables and call it a day? Or would I lose sound quality if I did this? And if you have any other thoughts or advice on using the Apogee Duet 2 with a home stereo feel free to weigh in. Thanks!
Tardcore
zero experience with that device but it looks like you need something like this. Unless, of course, your stereo has balanced inputs. I guess the alternative is to use the headphone out. Neither option seems ideal since you have to monkey with 2 different volume controls.
