heavyheavylowlow
Are there costs other than payment to the postal service that are enforced in America when shipping stuff, I've noticed recently I've been getting screwed somewhat on postage. For example I received an order today from VC that cost me $69 for shipping but on the postage invoice it says it cost $46.74, and I honestly can't see a cardboard box costing more than $20 and if they do someone needs to find a new box place. It's not just VC, I just feel a bit peeved as it's 20 dollars I could put towards more records.
riddle350
the USPS just raise postage costs so that may be why
heavyheavylowlow
But it's the USPS invoice that says it was only 46.
mrc
dont know how it was sent but it just cost me $27.00 to send 1 LP to france - international priority. when i weighed it out last week it was 24 and with the postage increase that kicked in on monday it raised the cost about 3 bucks. usually it cost about $12-15 to ship to the UK. kouka
I would be willing to bet Virgil could answer your question nah, let's talk more about it here.. maybe he took a lady friend to eat on the way to the post office. I don't about over there, but here in the states, you gotta wine 'em and dine 'em to sixty-nine 'em.
heavyheavylowlow
I know he'd answer it if I emailed him, but I don't want to sound like a whiney bastard, I'm not particularly bothered by it, it was just pure curiosity really.
mattramone
The H stands for Handling, like paying someone to actually pluck the rcords form the boxes, places them in the box, process them, and take them to the post office to be delivered. counterfiction
the extra $20 is the "fuck you for living in England and having a currency with value" charge
leerobert
The way I see it is that due to the exchange rate we still get a half decent deal most of the time.

vinyljunkie
I know he'd answer it if I emailed him, but I don't want to sound like a whiney bastard, so you decided to make a public post on the messageboard instead of simply emailing him straight off and asking if there was an error in the shipping charge? generally you will pay more than the exact postage price, because of handling. i agree though that 20 bucks handling charge is a bit excessive
