andy.
Samurai Tiger's debut album "Painted Out" draws influence on the emo riffs and angst of the Hotelier and Mansions as much as it does the ambiance and lofi acoustics of the Microphones and Waxahatchee. The album has a major focus on songwriting: taking only a few chords, augmenting them with mathy riffs and homemade tunings, ditching conventional structure, and carefully wrapping the songs in honest and poetic lyrics. Despite the warm, bedroom-recorded vibe; the album has a professionally produced shine, courtesy of Kyle Noonan of Amity Studios.
