timpopkid
I've recently had to replace my Dual CS 606 turntable. I replaced it with another Dual CS 606. Here is my question. On my old one I had an Ortofon OM5E. The new player came with an Audio Technica AT51E. Is there a consensus on which is the better cartridge? No matter which one I use, I will have to replace/upgrade the stylus as both are ready to be replaced. Having just put down the money for the new turntable and new speakers, my budget won't allow one of those OM 20+ styluses. My max would be the OM 10, or a comparably priced AT stylus. While I was able to find quite a bit of info on the Ortofon online, info on the Audio Technica one has been harder to come by. I know some may say to just listen to each and pick the one I think sounds better, but again, both are somewhat worn so I was curious if others had any opinions. Thanks!
