PO: Flickerstick - Welcoming Home the Astronauts
timpopkid replied to oasisish's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Josh Dodes Band and Harlow were the other two. Though I can’t be bothered to check if I spelled either correctly. -
I would still like to buy this.

Still looking

Any color of the Recess press will do. PayPal ready, or maybe I can trade something. Would prefer to buy outright.

New Shoplifters full length out now on PopKid records: https://popkid.limitedrun.com/products/647470-shoplifters-secret-free-world-vinyl-lp I don't post on here quite as much as I used to, but PopKid is still alive and kicking. Newest release is an incredible melodic punk band from Serbia called Shoplifters. If you dig crunchy Bob Mould style guitars, bouncy bass lines like Big Drill Car and UK style punk rock like Snuff or China Drum, this is probably for you. Everything that's great about 90s punk rock, but without sounding old. I like it anyway, otherwise it would be pretty stupid of me to put it out. You can listen on Bandcamp as well: https://popkid.bandcamp.com/album/secret-free-world Thanks!

PO: Charly Bliss - Young Enough (5/10/19)

It’s like they decided to make a new song that contains nothing that made them likable in the first place. Astounding. -

Of course I have Stuntman. I bought that as soon as it came out as well. As everyone should! -

I bought this the second I saw it. Great stuff. -
No, defitely no toilet paper came with this. If I'm going to keep a sealed box of 25 tape, I'm definitely keeping something wacky like toilet paper. I'm positive this is everything they send, minus the 2nd box of 25 tapes that I did actually give away like I was supposed to. No, not interest in any of that stuff. But I do collect other weird toys. Star Wars Black Series, M.U.S.C.L.E, anything Voltron, basically 80s stuff. Better in your house than mine!

So, this is a weird item that I’ve been sitting on for 20 some odd years. Before Losing Streak came out, LTJ put out the call to have poeple help them promote the record. They sent out 50 three song cassette samplers. And some stencils and other paper goods. I still have a sealed box of 25 tapes. I have no idea why. I also have all the paperwork they sent out along with some press clippings that I got when I was writing at my college newspaper back then. I don’t know if this is worth anything or not, but I want it out of my house. I have it up on eBay now (I know this should be in the eBay thread, but it’s weird and I didn’t want to get lost in the shuffle. I barely ever do this, so hopefully no one is offended). That said, I would pull this down and trade it for certain toys. Masters Of The Universe Classics being the primary want. Anyway, have at it: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F113196003096

We thought that there probably wouldn't be a new PopKid release in 2017, but we are happy to report that we were wrong. Please join us in welcoming Shoplifters to the PopKid records family. Shoplifters are from Serbia, but listening to their songs you might think they're actually from the UK...in 1994. Here at PopKid we first heard of Shoplifters through their incredible album Believe that came out on the mighty Waterslide Records. We were immediately taken with their stormy mix of Snuff and Big Drill Car punk rock. However, for this new 4 song 7", Shoplifters have cast their net even wider and caught a sound that that builds off of their prior work but incorporates new elements. This time out, you can feel the melodic side of the band come through even stronger. Often it brings to mind early, at their best, China Drum. At the same time, Shoplifters are tapping into a vein of even more ferocious energy than before with a whirlwind of forceful, Bob Mould-style guitar shredding. If you are looking for loud guitars, big hooks and melodic vocals you'd be hard pressed to find a band more up your alley than Shoplifters. The 7" is limited to 314 copies and is only available on Black Vinyl. This is available for sale right now from our webstore and also through our Bandcamp page. The 7" is $6 plus shipping and all records come with a download code. Purchase the record from our webstore here: http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/popkid-7-s Stream all four songs and buy the digital version on our Bandcamp page here: https://popkid.bandcamp.com/album/shoplifters-forgiver-7 PopKid is releasing this record in North America. If you are from another part of the world, there may be a label close by that is co-releasing this great 7" with us: Available in North America from PopKid Records Available in the UK from Brassneck Records Available in Japan from Waterslide Records Available in the Netherlands from White Russian Records Available in Spain from Bartolini Records If you haven't picked them up yet, this could be a good time to grab the recent Custody 7" and Chestnut Road LP that we put out last year. Shipping is $4 no matter how much you buy, so why not save on those shipping costs and pick yourself up an early present. Remember the season of giving to yourself is all year long. Chestnut Road - LPII: http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/chestnut-road-lpii-orange-vinyl Custody - Blistered Soul 7": http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/custody-blistered-soul-7-3-colors-of-vinyl Thanks!

PO NOW: Beck "Colors" 10/13/2017
timpopkid replied to KingTacoMunster's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
There's a song on Midnight Vultures where he's singing about fruity bazooty or something stupid like that. Lyrically just about every song is awful and the jokey R&B thing is such a disingenuous gimmick. -

Midnight Vultures was garbage too. Sea Change and pretty much all of his acoustic stuff is great. Aside from Morning Phase, which although wasn't bad, was pretty boring. Give me Mellow Gold and OFITG all day every day.
