dante3000
Long story short, I got selected to be a groomsman for a dude I'm not really that close to. Add to it the wedding is 40 minutes away, with people I don't know, the reception is 50 minutes away from the wedding and I have to be there from 11am to 9pm and I'm not a stoked dude. Here's the end of an IM conversation I had with my wife which was basically me bitching: Katie: it will be ok me: Yeah...just lame as hell. Can I get drunk? Katie: sure me: haha, probably not. With my dad and old scout master there Man...this will be rad Katie: ...can i get drunk then? I don't know why but that made me laugh a lot. cosmonaut
it's weird that someone you don't know that well would ask you to be a groomsman. he doesn't have close friends? but yeah, get mega-drunk.
benchwarmer
I'm still debating going to a wedding in July. I haven't talked to the person in 2 years. but some good friends are going, and they want us to go so they'll have someone to talk to. kouka
hang out with him this weekend, get super drunk and say inappropriate things - like how hot his wife is and if she's in to swinging, etc. maybe this will scare him and then when you decline, it won't be such a big deal. dante3000
can't you just say no? Eh his family is really close to mine. They already told me (my family) that it would mean a lot if I did this. Plus the dude has like 8 groomsmen...That's some big spots to fill, so I'm a little sympathetic in that regard.
