celebdeath
commies stick together - even if russia is supposed to be a democracy, they still very much practice 'central govt' policies.
Guest afsdan
Russia is pretty un-democratic. That 'election' was great, huh? I'm sure glad Putin's not president anymore...
Guest baseball
This was on a blog I read this morning, thought this was funny. What Was Putin Thinking?Note from a reader: Where on earth did Putin get the idea that he could just manufacture a non-existent crisis, invade a sovereign nation and overthrow its government just because he personally detests that nation’s leader? Oh. Never mind.
celebdeath
i think its safe to say russia's 'democracy' is very much in name only. LOL @ the 'election'. if only the forever under-the-thumb russian people actually had a real choice and the mechanisms in place to make that choice count. skanknsmile
This is what is scary, Putin, who has placed himself in this position of the eternal sovereign of Russia, is the one holding the trigger. Medvedev and Sarkozy had their talks, but from everything that I have read, the fighting is still in progress, and the main aggressor still seems to be Russia. I was just reading up and maybe some of our European friends could help with this, but the South Ossetia region; how long has Georgia been attacking that? According to Al Jazeera, it says about 2,000 dead. Is that accurate? I really would like to get more background on this. And is Putin still at the Olympics, because I know homeboy Bush had to get back and address this, so I assume Putin left first and then Bush HAD to leave for appearance sake.
